I think I have all the major models included, if I missed any please say in your post Very Happy

BippyM : sorry to say but you missed the special models A4000T and A3000T Laughing But don´t worry, I voted for the A1200 for its easy and affordable expansions, even if the A4000 and A3000 are far better from architecture point of view Very Happy

Had to shift from loving my A3000 to my A4000's.
A4000 is really a nice machine straight from the box, with a gfx card like Cybervision 64 it's a great gaming machine and with a 68060 accel board and a network card you can browse the internet with ease and download tons of whdload games straight into your A4000. Razz

I voted for the a500 because from a gaming perspective it gave me a more enjoyable time and also the fondest memory I have is opening that Flight of Fantasy box on christmas morning Very Happy

I'd have to vote 1200 for other stuff like programming etc..

My vote goes to the A1200.

+AGA
+Easy processor upgrade
+Takes cheap 2.5" harddisks
+Takes an internal scandoubler/flickerfixer
+Has PCMCIA (or something close to it)
+Looks modern (if white)
+Easy to obtain (here at least)

-Can get very crammed inside when expanding.
-Chipset limits you when upgrading.
-Turn yellow in a blink of an eye.
-Some revisions should have been patched but are not.
-Comes with a terribly underpowered power supply.

Thats a plus? That was the bain of the 1200... 2.5" disks were harder to find and more expensive. That was always the case. I've ALWAYS used adaptors and had 3.5" HDs in my 1200s over the years.

Xeron : true, they were more expensive but at least you could also find an adapter to connect 3,5" drives and solve your problem. Don´t really see myself doing that to an old big pc notebook Very Happy

Yes I consider it a plus. But that is from todays point of view. I can imagine it was a burden back in '92 but I did not have an A1200 back then. Nowadays it makes a great hobbyist computer since it has the 2.5" interface. Laptops are trashed every day carrying good harddisks. So it is very easy to upgrade the A1200. Also the PCMCIA, cards for that costed a fortune but nowadays it makes the A1200 cheaper for networking than your average zorro solution.
