Is this possible in a simple sort of way ?
Can you attach some sort of CD drive to the 1200 to play the CD games ? _________________ I can wake up in the middle of the night and start searching for a three-headed monkey. |

It was my friend, as I advertised earlier in the marketplace:

Any CD drive you can attach to the 1200 will do, you will need CD32 emulation software running on your miggy though. This means that all games might not work.
Never tried this myself so I'm not sure about a compatibility rating.
Don't get one of these zappos. They are just slow shit. Much better to get a normal, faster, cheap IDE CDROM and a 4-way buffered interface. |

Which is why you will find joy with a zappo/overdrive as they offer good compatibility with all CD32 software, as they were designed primarily with it in mind _________________ ..._____ . ___ . ___

Doesn't make a difference which drive you use you still have to use software emulation for CD32 compatibility and this is prone to bring issues. Also, Zappo's software is years old, while the software you can find on the Aminet is fresher. Why would one want to stick to a bloody 2X drive that clogs up your PCMCIA port which you can be using for something else like a network card or a SCSI interface? Why connect a CDROM to your PCMCIA interface if you have the ability to use the INTERNAL IDE interface provided in your Amiga? |

Whereas I have. New software does not mean *better* software. The zappo was designed for the purpose of 100% compatibility with CD32 software and this is what it provides.
It also means you have no danger overloading a standard power supply should you use other extras inside your amiga. _________________ ..._____ . ___ . ___
