So, I downloaded the TOSEC collection of games, because I know that is what Lemonade pulls most of its "playable" versions from, but, as it turns out (lol) the file I downloaded is actually toocomprehensive - for example, there are 15 .adf files for Battle Chess - all different versions.

My hard drive simply can't take the strain. Laughing

Is there a way for me to figure out which version of a game is supported? The best way I can think of is to extract all 15 files (the zip is well over 10 megs, so lemonade doesn't look in the zip file), do a scan for all unplayable games, see which one lemonade picks up, then delete the unused files.

Since this can be quite cumbersome, I wanted to make sure there wasn't a more efficient way to do it, that I was missing. Smile

Edit: I guess I can ask this question here as well: How do you guys fit the TOSEC collection onto your drives? Even the zipped version was 3 gigabytes, so I was only into the Ms before I worked through a decent sized hard drive.

My only options seem to be: extract games one by one as I want to play them, or manually extract pieces of the TOSEC collection in 10 MB pieces (which takes a LONG time, after 18 seperate zip files I was up to "Ad" in the alphabet, and I realized the futility of it all.

I double checked, and all the files I have for the TOSEC commercial games alone would come out to just shy of 19 gigabytes - is there something I'm missing here, or is everyone just sitting around with 19gb committed to Amiga games? Embarassed

There's currently no way to find out which versions the scanner supports, so deleting unused files sounds like a massive, nearly impossible job. I would suggest not to spend too much time on this. Smile When Lemonade 0.99 is out all the work may be wasted. Rolling Eyes

I downloaded everything from planet emu, which also left me with a lot of games having multiple adf files. I placed everything in one huge dir and had lemonade do a game scan with the option of moving recognized files to another location (which was on another partition). I then organized all the recognized adf files into alphabetic dirs and had lemonade scan the new location. (The new location only had recognized files but i had to rescan because when i reorganized things lemonade could no longer find the adf files.)

wiser,
check if games with more then 4 floppies (eg. Indy 4) have all floppies moved into new location.

After playing a bit with lemonade I found that all of those game are missing all disks after initial 4.

Thanks for the response, I think I'll listen to your advice and just play it one game at a time until I see what the future brings. Very Happy

That's good and accurate advice. I also found a game the only supports two floppy drives and the third disk wasn't moved over.

???

Surely it cannot be hard to publish a list of the games and the CRCs?

Here's a list of the adf file names that Lemonade v0.98 recognised from my tosec collection. Notice that games having more then 4 disks only list the first four - since v0.98 only copies over the first 4 discs of a game it recognizes.
