I have Amiga Disks that I would like to play through this emulator but
don't I have to convert the games from the Amiga Disks into PC compatilble games and then run them in this emulator?

I also love P.P. Hammer but I don't see this game in the Encyclopedia for this emulator. Will it run anyways?

Randy

Love the emulator. Playing Elvira: Mistress of the Dark now.

PP Hammer was in game competition and it works fine in WinUAE. I'm not sure about Lemonade DB. (I don't have it installed)

Basically, yes. There is a process in which one sends the data bit-by-bit from the Amiga's floppy drive to a PC. The PC saves it all in one 880KB (how big an Amiga FDD is) image file. The image file is then used by WinUAE and the like as a virtual floppy drive in a file.

Sometimes you can Google the name of the game with 'ADF' (Amiga disk File) and 'download' or something similar to get a copy of one that someone else has done. This is, of course, encouraging game piracy which I don't do (heh).

See the thread in the Softare & Hardware forum topic entitled "Transferring Amiga <-> PC" IIRC.

Probably. The way I do it is to use WinUAE directly without Lemonade but that's because I've been in this game a while :-p I'm therefore not farmilliar with Lemonade but it should be quite straight-forward. Try reading any documentation that comes with Lemonade or GIYF!

Too bad I missed the P.P. Hammer competition!!

I looked into the ADF files and Amiga Disks.
I looked into the way to bring my games to life
in Lemon. Seems like a lot of work.
But I do have games and 2 Amiga 500s in working order.
The monitor still runs!!!

I was using it up until 2000. Then I broke down and bought a
P.C. (boo hoo)

It is long process to transfer your disks to PC if you don't have A1200 with some extra memory, HD and option to move data between PC and Amiga at faster rate. (CF PCMCIA card perhaps)

But why even to try to bring your amiga files as all of that and much more you can download online and use with WinUAE.

Just for beggining, check Ancient Toys, Planet Emu and Gametronik (last two - Amiga downloads section) and most likely you will find a game you're looking for.

If you're advanced WinUAE user (know how to setup or customize HDF, Workbench or preinstalled workbench) there is a whole new world with WHDLoad, which makes all those floppy games playable from hard disks. There are packs with many games available for downloads at KG's WHDLoad packs page or you can download single games from packs from WHDownload's web page.

Hope this helps. Smile

You are right.
I'm downloading TOSEC-v0 29.
I'm sure how all that works.
Never did a torrent before.
This is all so new to me but the struggle is not great.
I've been playing P.P. Hammer like crazy.

Lemon makes everything a breeze.

It would be nice to work in a Workbench arena or atleast even
use an old word processor I have on Amiga Disk. I can't seem to
find it.

Apparently you can atleast take your text files off of old Amiga Disks and
convert them to PC format???

I would love that because I have years of writing stored away.

Thanks again.

Randy

I use a Catweasel controller for transferring adf files. Works like a charm, only that you have to spend money once for the Catweasel.

http://www.jschoenfeld.de/indexe.htm for Catweasel info, costs 100€at Vesalia.

Thanks for the information.
It's been a fast track to memory lane.

So I can't use the Catweasel controller without an Amiga 1000.
I have 2 Amiga 500's. In the end it's ok because my monitor, bubble jet printer still work and I can print documents.
I even attempted to take some of my text work, print it up and then use a program that scans text off paper and turns it into digital text. It's a lot of work to fix all the scanner errors. Anyways.

I'm having fun playing P.P.Hammer. Soon I'll be getting into playing Flood. I loved the E.A. games.

You don't need Catweasel to read amiga DOS disks on PC. Just use ADFread. (download it at WinUAE.net >> download section.

This should make it easy for you to read your files and transfer them to PC.

You use the Catweasel in a PC and can read/write adf files from/for any amiga, no need to have an amiga 1000.

But in your case, just like Anubis mentioned, stick with ADFread.
