It's a Knockout! 2008/09: Game Vote
Yes - at last. It's time to vote in your games for our knockout competition. To find the full rules for the tournament, click here. But here's a quick summary:
The voting starts now (Sunday, November 16) and finishes at 11:59pm UK time on Saturday, November 29.
Vote for 5 games - your first choice gets 5 points, second 4pts, third 3pts, fourth 2pts, fifth 1pt. Edited votes will be discounted.
Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. You can only vote once, and also it could cause confusion if you post your vote on both boards - it's easy for it to be counted twice by accident.
If you want to see what the Lemon lot are voting for, click here.
You can only vote for the 15 games played in the 2008 Super League. At a glance, these are:
- Super Stardust
- Pinball Fantasies
- Deluxe Pacman
- Jump 'n' Roll
- SWIV
- The Chaos Engine
- Turrican
- Alien Breed
- Alien Breed 2
- Lotus III
- P.P. Hammer
- X-Out
- Battle Squadron
- Banshee
- Stunt Car Racer
A few other points:
If you vote for Pinball Fantasies, please state what table you would like to play - Partyland or Speed Devils.
If you vote for Lotus III, we will be playing the Timer mode. Please state what difficulty level you'd like to play - easy, medium or hard.
If you vote for Stunt Car Racer, we will be playing two tracks out of Hump Back, Big Ramp, High Jump and Draw Bridge. Please state what two you'd like to play.
The game with the most points from the voting will be played in the qualifying round on December 7. The second-placed game will be played in the first round proper, and so on.
Anyone is welcome to vote, play and chat at any time. May voting commence... _________________

I clicked there, but nothing happened. Do we vote in this thread, or in the linked ones? I'm confused, but will err on the side of making an ass of myself by voting here.
1) Alien Breed 2
2) Chaos Engine
3) Alien Breed
4) Turrican
5) Lotus III, medium _________________ OldSkool demo development for the win! |

And that's that.
So the top five that will be played in the compo (in order; though it may be four depending on the number of people in the tournament)...
1. Lotus III (Hard mode to be played) - 37
2. The Chaos Engine - 36
3. Pinball Fantasies (Partyland table to be played) - 29
4. Battle Squadron - 22
5. Turrican - 20
So the game that'll be played in the qualifying round (open to everyone) will be Lotus III, which commences on December 7. Here's how all the other games fared for those who are curious...
6. Banshee - 20
7. Super Stardust - 16
8. X-Out - 15
9. Alien Breed - 15
10. Stunt Car Racer - 14
11. Alien Breed 2 - 13
12. P.P. Hammer - 11
13. SWIV - 11
14. Deluxe Pacman - 6
15. Jump 'n' Roll - 5
Thanks Graham!! _________________

Rats. I'd never even heard of Battle Squadron until this list appeared! Still, as I suck at Pinball Fantasies anyway I guess it makes no odds.
Also, a bit late but you may want to fix the Battle Squadron link in the list in the OP as at the moment it goes to a discussion about ASCII Star Wars -- you missed the 7 off the end.
Correct link:

I know I saw it somewhere, but I can't find it now -- ECS or AGA version of Chaos Engine? Edit Ignore that -- I was thinking of AB2. _________________ OldSkool demo development for the win! |
