Is there noone using Lemonade anymore? That would be a awful shame if that was the case.
At least in my house, Lemonade is far from dead! Actually, just now it goes through a revival unprecedented around here.
I've fiddled a bit lately, looking to complete an idea hatched a while back: I want Amiga games to always be with me (and my little sister, who I "brought up" playing Miggy games), and the best way to do this is by harnessing the powers of Lemonade and WinUAE.
GameBase Amiga provides a more comprehensive package perhaps, but I still prefer Lemonade due to the exquisite gui, uplinking to Lemon Amiga and sheer comfortness (if that is a word ).
So what I set out to make was a Windows XP installation that at the same time automatically installs Lemonade, with WinUAE, games, settings and screenshots. There were quite a few problems with this, mostly caused by the notorious flash.ocx error which would have broken the installation if not amended. Though, after some hard work diving into the matter it seems solved now.
If anyone's interested I could tell more about what I did, and perhaps even share the resulting silent installer, of course if it's fine with Kim (or Robert).
Aaaanyway, we are soon getting to the point of this post! After using the Scanner to pick up exactly the games that Lemonade recognizes (around 1900, in this case) and compare the unrecognized ones with the compatibility list from the top of this forum, it all added up quite well.
There's only one gripe: World Games. It isn't on the list over "broken" games, but among my 50+ GB (It'll be a pleasure to free up that space!) and more than 10 different versions of World Games, still there's no version is recognized. So the question is: does anyone have a recognized version? Could you please tell me what version is the correct one? Perhaps even (gulp!) provide a link?
That would be the icing on a wonderful cake. _________________ I'm selling these fine leather jackets. |

Perhaps I should have mentioned that of course I know that it's discontinued, . Though I disagree with Kim that it is obsolete.
Even though Lemonade isn't developed anymore it still is what it is, which is quite, quite good, IMO. Perhaps it boils down to that I'm happy with Lemonade because it gives me all the games that I want to play and I'm not too preoccupied with the rest of them.
Except World Games, though. _________________ I'm selling these fine leather jackets. |

I had tried long and hard, probably a couple years ago now, to collect all the adf's that Lemonade support. I didn't get very close as there were a couple hundred i never found.
I commend you on your effect and hope you make easily available to others - even if you can't get the right version of World Games.
Lemonade may be older then GameBase Amiga and no longer under development but it's still better in many ways. Lemonade immensely easier to set up and use. _________________ Don't be waylaid by the empty rhetoric of the uninformed. |

| Does the latest WinUAE version now work again with Lemonade or is there still that transparent window bug? |

I use Lemonaid occasionally when I want to see a screen-shot
because it does this quickly. I don't think I ever had a problem
with Lemonaid, with the exception of the 'dissapearing WinUAE'--
which was pretty easy to get around.
I've since moved on to GameBase (which I like), though GameBase
tends to surprise me with a crash once in a while.
Then I broke down and got the AmigaForever player, which I like--
but it doesn't have a 'personal comments' section as the above do;
though the 'Forever player is improving with each update--and I do
like the idea of using the RP9 files--this should eventually simplify
retro-gaming. _________________ Who is John Galt?

I've made a "public" version of the RAR-based installer I use. Hopefully it wont be judged too harshly, perhaps someone even could get use of it!
