Just registered to the forums. (I have been reading the forums for some time but as my Amiga -interest was not that high I didn't reg.)
I have been into C64 -world for some five or so years for now. At some point I also bought an A500 but I never get going with it so much. I did play some games with it and even learnt to transfer disk images from PC over a serial cable to real floppies.
Just this week, however, my spark for Amiga computers has been revived as I received my new machine, the CDTV! I bought it from a local web-auction with the video modulator unit, pad-style remote-controller, keyboard and external floppy disk drive. I also bought two games, Lemmings and SimCity, both CDTV -versions. One moment today I was running a Workbench 1.3 from a floppy, using clock and notepad in it and at the same time listening to a music CD with the CDTV, all thrue the remote pad-controller, and that was something! Now I feel that the world of Amiga is getting more and more interesting and this forum will be a good supporting tool for that!
My other Commodore interests; the PET 2001 (I have one!), C64 (of course!) and the Amiga. Fav.games: Outrun, Lemmings, SimCity.
Any other CDTV fans out there? Hope to see you all later! _________________ Amiga CDTV - It's nothing short of revolutionary |

I loved the CDTV Its one of those machines that was never going to be mainstream because it was ahead of its time, but paved the way for those to come, and now its looked back on so fondly and as a rare gem. You look after it ok? hehe!
Hope you enjoy you time here at lemon and we can help out with anything you need. _________________ A1200 RIP

CDTV seems to be a rare one as there is very little in the internet (comparing to Amiga / C64 -stuff). This was also the first CDTV for sale that I had came across.
I have hard time to see why the CDTV was not popular, I think it's fantastic combination, and the games made for it really work smoothly with the remote pad (which I really like a lot).
I will look after it and I try to use it daily, to play CD's at least.
