Not really. I own six different Amigas (2*A500/A500+/A600/A1200/A4000) with six different ROMs, so I can use them any way I want for personal use. |
Depends what kickstarts are in them..
Do you have copies of Kick3.1? I bet you do!
anyway it is irrelevant, I'm saying it's pointless spouting about legalities anyway..
Who cares?
also why do you want to get SWOS working on cd32 when you have 6 diff Amigas? (7 if you include your CD32) |

I think you may be mistaken as cd-rw's are more likely to have compatibility probs than cdr's- although some 74min ones can be tricky on thomsons.
I have found cd-r's to be fine in all all the xbox's versions I have come across tho including thomson's. |
Well its the other way around for me!
I have tried CDrs and none worked, I found out XBox dvd drives prefer CDRW and tried it.. voilla it worked!
I also read xbox don't like CDR and I am not mistaken because my BIOS is on a CDRW as I update it regularly |

Basically there are 3 types of xbox drives...
Thomson - shite drives barely play anything.
Philips - (the one I, and by the sounds of it BippyM has) - plays cdrw's fine but won't play cdr's unless you are very, very lucky and use expensive media.
Samsung - Will play mostly anything, have some probs with cdrws _________________ English Amiga Board

There's 4 now actually, some of the new ones have hitachi's.
BippyM I was just pointing out that cdr's have worked fine for me in all the thomson, philips and samsung so it would be wrong to suggest as a whole that they did not work.
For further info everyone see xbox-scene.

As I mentioned in my pm, you will be lucky to get one, as (apparently) there is currently a shortage in the uk... _________________ www.lemon64.com - For all C64 fans!

[quote="LeeT"]I just got my Xbox chipped for Christmas and the Amiga emulation seems pretty good (though I havent tried a great deal of games yet). The only problem is that it lacks a virtual keyboard (as does VICE, the C64 emulator) so sometimes it won't recognise keypresses.
Other than that, its defiently worth getting it chipped, especially if you are a fan of other emulated systems too (NES, MegaDrive, PCEngine etc).
(If you pm me, I will give you the details of who chipped mine).[/quote
Not true! Both the Xbox version of VICE and WINUAE support virtual keyboards. Just press the top of the left analogue control stick downwards. You can even map numerous keys to Xbox controller buttons. For example, in C64 Druid I mapped the minus key to button Y so I could open doors. |

Thanks for that info Jaz - I thought it was odd that there was no way of using the keys! _________________ www.lemon64.com - For all C64 fans!
