..or after a significant amount of time has passed without any news of disapproval
I recently created my own unlocked copy of the Lemonade database (the one used by the game scanner for CRC matches). To use it, I would replace the "...\Lemonade\Data\lmn.cab" file with my update (the same filename, in the same directory) and then run Lemonade's game scanner as usual. I've just now run the game scanner with my modified lmn.cab file and everything worked perfectly.
Providing enough people are interested and providing the authors are okay with it, I would be happy to release my unofficial updates here as they make them (whenever I have some time to go ROM hunting among the TOSEC collection and update some entries). The updated .cab files could be password protected like the latest official Lemonade update.
I will begin with the 216 games that are already in the database but as of yet have no associated CRC data. So far, the only modification I've made has been for "Flashback" : to use a different image set (some parts of the game are in French with the original entry), and also changed it from A600 to A500 to avoid the strange problem that causes gun-fire to become muted (http://www.lemonamiga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2710).

Ive only just started using lemonade so I would be pleased if it could be updated.
As long as Kim Lemon is ok with it of course. |

I think Kim Lemon doesn't care anymore, he told Lemonade is discontinued forever long time ago. _________________

I assume as much, but thought I'd rather be safe and ask for permission.. especially since I had to break into the database to be able to modify it. |

| I just discovered that Lemonade doesn't support ISO very well, and would force the user to manually mount / insert CD32 discs. Seeing as a large amount of the games marked as unplayable are CD32 - it seems like this may not be quite as good as I had hoped, but there are still a fair amount of non-CD32 games missing from the database. |

Any improvements to Lemonade would be welcome - in my opinion. _________________ Please refer all site and database related matters directly to me - incl. missing games, links, screenshots and suggestions. |

If people could let me know of any problems with any Lemonade game configs in the database that you've come across or games you want added.
Other than that, I'll check the old update request threads and I'll look to see if any CD32 games are missing and fill them in as needed (Lemonade requires them to be manually set to playable anyway so they'll be really fast to do as no testing is required on my part ) |

I'm sure many would appreciate your efforts--
While I had it, the Lemonaid frontend was the fastest
and most reliable, not to mention the most convienient--
(the configs always seemed to work). I still liked it better 'n
anything else at the time.
Now that I've got an updated gamebase amiga
the updated version more useful, as I can control
what goes into the fields.
Good luck. _________________ Who is John Galt?
