Hi all,

I have a new blog called Funny Games and am looking for suggestions as to which Amiga Games to include here.

It is games on any format, but I'm sure there are plenty on the Amiga that are funny. So far for the Miggy I've included Fiendish Freddie's

All suggestions welcome!
Cheers.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text adventure was written by Douglas Adams himself. I haven't played it, as it's supposed to be blatantly unfair to the player, but I can't imagine that it's any less funny than the book. He also did Bureaucracy, which I've been meaning to play for a while. If the comments on this site are anything to go by, it's also a riot.

The Monkey Island games always had a great sense of humor, but I wouldn't really consider them as true Amiga games; they were originally developed for DOS, and the Amiga was terribly unsuited to them. A bit like playing Doom on the SNES for me. Same goes for Beneath a Steel Sky and most of those other point-and-click games; they're funny, but they'd be more at home on a DOS-themed list.

Bubba 'n' Stix is really weird and looks like a Dr. Seuss book. It has a few clever moments and the sound effects are always amusing.

Worms has lots of silly voices and cheesy one-liners. Again, amusing, especially combined with the over-the-top weaponry, and the "Oh, dear!" death scenes are a nice touch.

I hope that I've been helpful. Also, that link to your blog doesn't work; here's a fixed version.

Cheers Dan,

I've now fixed it in my original post too.

Monkey Island and the likes will definately be added to the site - but yeah Worms was (and still is) hilarious!

It's a pity that 'Z' never made it to the Amiga - that was a funny (and great) game

If you consider Rise of the Robots unintentionally funny enough for inclusion, Top Banana might also be "worthy" of a place on your site.

There were games meant to be funny that weren’t such as Monty python and Viz (viz abit funny to an adolescent but a really crappy game)

I remember giggling mainly at Bobo or Jumping Jackson...

There was also this stupid little PD game where you had two people having sex and u had to wiggle the joystick to make then F**@ faster thus getting more points Smile Dunno what it was called though..

Personally I giggled more at demos: Three come to mind.

Arsewipe (which I posted on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG4qM6EwZAY)
Fraxion Revenge demo (which I posted here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-l0Oo8ZcMA)

And a how to stop smoking demo which I found on a cd32 gamer cover disc Smile

Funny/humorous games is a good one for a topical write. Bound
to be plenty that were unintentionally funny, perhaps the 'B' class
of games. Your first throw out 'Fiendish' is good for starts. One
that comes to mind, for me, is Moon Walker. I laugh just looking
at the screen shot. Of course, once I started playing it, I wasn't
laughing any more. I did manage to scream a few oaths, cursing
the day that I ever found that piece of....
What was that? Oh yes. Funny. Well, good luck with the new
blog Smile

Keef The Thief got a few chuckles out of me. It doesn't take anything too seriously, especially the title character.

Viz. Funny, funny game. But an incredibly horrible and difficult game to play.

If my ailing memory serves correct, each level had a bonus section before it where you had to work up points that could activate characters special actions in the main part of the game.

Buster Gonad the boy with the unfeasibly large testicles' bonus rounds was either a round were you had to waggle the joystick to make Buster bounce on his gonads as high as he possibly could. The other was to squash dough on a conveyer into pancakes.

Johnny Fartpants' rounds were simliar to Buster Gonads'; One was a joystick waggler to make him guff as high as possible, the other was a round where you had to inflate balloons using his pumpy poop-hole.

Biffa Bacon's rounds were one were you had to chug pints and the other was deflecting bricks being hurled from off screen by either headbutting them, punching.

Then in game there was a gaggle of other Viz characters spurting out expletive full speech bubbles Including a commentary by Roger Mellie.
