PLEEEEASE help!
I've been driving myself NUTS trying to find information on the internet about an old game on this Amiga I used to play. I can't even remember the name so just to identify it would be amazing if someone could tell me the name?
I only remember a few aspects of it so I will explain all I know so that I can help you more to identify it. The following may sound utterly crazy but as a kid it was so much fun. It was a kid's game, I can remember it was about a witch who had sucked all the colour and fun out of the world (I think...) by stealing a crystal and the 1st activity was to colour-in some pictures using a "click and fill-in" type game. I remember 1 picture was 2 monkeys (a mum and a baby on her back holding onto a branch. I there was a picture of a girl looking on up to a house on the left diagonal of the screen in the distance. I think there were a total of 3 pictures to colour-in but I can't remember the 3rd, I think it was a red riding hood or something walking down a path or something?
I remember there was a strange part in the game where there was a kingdom ruled by a frog king (I remember seeing the frog sitting with a yellow crown sitting facing the screen) and he asked you to show your favorite toy to him and hold him up to the screen. It was very silly but as a kid you believed it.
The last part I remember you had to say to someone a password which was "Sparkleshine", in order to get to the witch at the end. I remember there was a "Tunnel" which you went through to the "Witch's world" (possibly) and the screen changed from pictures of a witch to circles displaying a tunnel affect by flashing (I remember specifically a tunnel that had the colours red, brown, purple and white). The last part was where you didn't know how to defeat the witch but someone (cannot remember who!) said use your magic eraser (and I cannot remember how you acquire it) and you rub out her face to reveal the crystal behind her.
That's all I can remember. I know it is a bizarre request but could someone help!!! It's been driving me insane! |

Well, after so much heavy praise from the Amiga.org web site directing you to our hallowed halls, its a real shame there are no positive suggestions. Well, if I may be so bold, the game you are talking about sounds like one of the Fun School series to me, though I can't find the right one to be sure. It may have been an old BBC, Acorn or a C64 version, although I see you have tried there already. The same green frog appears in most of the series. Some titles include drawing, painting, counting and erasing things. Don't have a clue about witches.
I may be totally barking up the wrong tree here. Take a look at the Fun School games on Lemon and see if anything looks familiar.

Thanks for the suggestion lifeschool, normally members will pounce on a post like this trying to beat all others to the answer - seems like everyone is stumped this time _________________ Please refer all site and database related matters directly to me - incl. missing games, links, screenshots and suggestions. |

| Yeh, apologies for LA not being up to it's usual standards in the "Name that game"..er...game. It kinda makes me think that this isn't an Amiga game. Or, as suggested by lifeschool, it could well be an educational game, like the fun school series. I've never played them so I can't comment! |

Yeah, it's not like we don't care about posting here, it's just that I've never heard of such a game.
Reminds me a bit about Wiz n Liz, but that's definitely not it. _________________ "I used to be an Amiga user like you, then I took an arrow in the knee." |

Rush reference?
About the game... yeah, I got nothing. |
Hehe: 2112 - The Remix...
We are the Priests of the Temples of Lemon
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Lemon
All the gifts of life are held within our walls
...Behind my beloved waterfall, in the little room that was hidden beneath the cave, I found it.
I brushed away the dust of the years, and picked it up, holding it reverently in my hands.
I had no idea what it might be, but it was beautiful...
...I learned to lay my fingers across the keyboard, and to strike the keys to make them sound differently.
As I struck the mouse with my other hand, I produced my first harmonious sounds.
And soon my own music! How different it could be from the music of the Temples!
I can't wait to tell the priests about it!...
...What can this strange device be?
...In the sudden silence as I finished playing, I looked up to the circle with a grin,
Father Brown rose to his feet, and his somnolent voice echoed
Throughout the silent Temple Hall...
...He said
Yes, we know, it's nothing new
It's an Amiga you fool, can't you see?
Our world could use this beauty
Just think what we might do |

| I don't think she's coming back... but I'd still like to get to the bottom of this. Any chance you could give us any further info on this title? Like, the computer you played it on (would help a lot!), and any other small details you might remember... |

I remember playing it on an Amiga 2000 in the early 1990s - maybe about 1992 or 1993. (I was born in May 1987, so I would have been 5 or 6).
I remember the scenes exactly as the thread starter described. I remember getting scared sh!tless at the witch "warp tunnel" sequence, because there was an image of nasty looking witch that flashed at you very briefly (for a nanosecond) every few seconds while you were watching the rest of the colours flash. (That warp tunnel sequence was right before the end, where you did indeed have to erase the final evil witch (who looked different to the one in the "warp tunnel", and actually looked like she could be a "good" evil witch, if that makes sense.)
P.S
I can't remember what the nasty looking witch even looked like, but I'd love to somehow get a screen grab so I could look at it now all these years later... just to satisfy a childhood curiosity. |

Was it Cauldron?
Super Cauldron?
Curse of Enchantia?
Kings Quest I?
Cotton?
Fued?
Witchaven?
I know some of these may not be Amiga but it might give you an idea of the Witch game your looking for etc.
hope I'm helping you out here.

| I have a feeling that the name of the game was something like Adventure in Funland, or maybe just Funland. Something "land" is what I am thinking. |

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while, been busy with things.
Just so glad I'm not the only one who remembers this and is trying to satisfiy a childhood curiosity like myself!
Jed, you are bang on with the ending. I remember being terrified by that warp tunnel sequence!
I think, if I remember correctly, as you said, the last witch looked the nicest and didn't look as ugly as the rest of witches which we got a flash of in the tunnel.
It was quite a psychadelic experience! I just wish I knew what the name was and as you say, I wish I could see a picture of the game.
I found an introductory book of the Amiga 500 series or 500 plus. I believe this was the amiga I had - I only ever had one amiga.
I really hope this helps |

| Well, I know a man, loitering around certain other forum, who can name pretty every game that was ever produced for Amiga or C64. He appears only occasionally, but Ill try to send him a pm, maybe he'll answer. |
