I was playing the old 8-bit classic Hunchback the other day, and after a couple of google searches, discovered that a commercial Amiga version was never made.
Was a PD version of this game (or perhaps a clone) ever made? PD versions of 8 bit classics tended to be better than commercial "updates" anyway. |

I seem to remember some kind of a mid-priced hunchback game for Amiga. At first I thought it was released by Kingsoft or Anco, but no... Maybe I only remember an advertisement on some magazine. But I remember playing that game! Hmm... _________________ ArchaicMetallurgy.com

Thanks for the replies. I'll give the suggestions a bash later tonight.
My earliest memories of computer platform gaming is "Punchy" on the C16, which I believe was a direct clone of hunchback (or vice-versa). I like these old type of "pixel perfect jump" platform games where you progress from one screen to the next, but have never encountered anything like it one the Amiga, despite the many 8 to 16 bit conversion it got. |

I'm sure it was reviewed in Zzap as well - when they had a 16bit pull out - maybe it was Battlements. _________________ Fave Amiga Games:

Oh yes Fiery Phoenix, I think you're right. I used to read Zzap at those times, too. _________________ ArchaicMetallurgy.com

Will be defo that then - remember it got a really low mark as well. Was the Gordon, Kati & Maff era. _________________ Fave Amiga Games:

^ It must have been under 20% or even 10%, overall. I have no recollection of the staff, though.
EDIT: Ok, found the review. Check it out!!! Unbelivable, must give this game a try... _________________ ArchaicMetallurgy.com

...an' all than an' everyfin'.
But hey, at least their little phrases were nowhere near as annoying as AP's "(count 'em)" _________________ "The virus of hate infects the ignorant mind" - Biohazard |
