|
|
I've tried
Hox
C64 Forever
CCS64
and I have no idea what I'm doing.
I can get the game loaded most of the time, but 9/10 I can't move. I've tried looking in options/help and can't seem to get *any* key configurations working and I'm frustrated beyond belief.
Also, I was trying to play Pool of Radiance and can't find a way to switch discs.
I'm completely new at this and don't know what I'm doing, so any help would be appreciated. |

--JiggleBiscuits, have you tried the 'Lemon 64' forum?
http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1
You may end up having to do a bit of research--emulation
is a lot easier nowadays, but you can still sometimes get
into difficulties with this or that configuration issue.. _________________ Who is John Galt?

synchro, your loader looks really nice. Is what you've
got anything like 'The Company', which is an auto-loader
for Amiga programs? _________________ Who is John Galt?

Not yet as I figured this was the best place to start with, but thanks for the tip. |

The launcher is menued its just click and play 240 games....all instructions and games straight from the interface...Also has its own uninstaller
The EXE'S on the shelf page are standalone games....you can either download and save them or click on and run them. Just like the Companys Amiga ones.
It was the companys Exes that gave me the idea.....Im consructing a launcher for them as well....A demo and more of my completed work is on my webpad here !!

Also have a mame Launcher....sega....CD32...My own Amiga version all.... WIP |

From what I have seen, the C64 seems to be one of the more successfully emulated computers out there. Especially if you are using Windows XP.
I have mainly used CCS64 and VICE for C64 emulation. Both work well for me.
I don't have the emulators in front of me (I'm unfortunately at work at the moment ) but menus allow you to swap disk images in the virtual drives - for example in VICE I think there are "attach disk image" and "detach disk image" options in the "File" menu.
When you say you can load up the program but can't move - I assume you are talking about your character on screen. In the emulators you can assign keys to work as your "joystick" - eg the arrow keys. The next trick is to make sure your emulated "joystick" is in the correct "joystick port". If you know you are using the right keys for the "joystick", try swapping from Joystick port 1 to 2 or vice versa. C64 games were often specific about which joystick port they would recognise for input.
Hope that helps a little. |
