^ "over Xmas"! - we're almost there again!
The latest news from the VA crew is that the first edit should be ready in six to eight weeks. This has been made easier by the fact Zach recently quit his full time job to work further on the project.
Hope that is of interest... stay tooned.

Just another update to this. I hoped this film would come out in time for the A500 and A1200's birthdays last year, but appearantly it's all being planned for December 2013! By that time it will have taken 30 months - 2.5 years to complete (since May 2011). I suspect its not the video editing which takes the longest time (it doesn't usually take 2 years to edit a 2 hour movie) but I guess it depends on how long things take to render the Amigas 3D graphics??
In the meantime, they are promising us a demo of the project in Spring this year, so we can at least get a taster for it.

Hey all
Hope you had a nice holiday. I managed to get a lot of content editing done. Almost all of the 40+ interviews have been edited down now! I am just working on the last 3, and they are in German and Dutch, so they are being translated, so I can edit them down.
All is well here. Going to provide a full, finished chapter with music and graphics in the Spring, then continue with graphics and sound work for the remainder of the year.
Deadline for completion is still Dec 31, 2013.
Stay tuned and thanks again for your support. Working hard here, and making MUCH more progress then before I became a freelancer in Sept of last year!

Latest from Zach:
"Hey All
Still working here. Feeling damned good about the film. Finally all of the damned sorting and sifting is over, and I am creating actual chapters that flow and are watchable. Feels so good to see all my hard work coming together.
The goal is to have a finished chapter with music, sound mixing and animation for Easter. If we don't make March 31, I can promise April 15.
The chapter is called The Revolution Begins/The Glory Days. (It's actually 2 chapters, according to my script, but they blend together). One of the most upbeat and exciting chapters in the film. People talk about the seeing the amiga for the first time, and how it changed their worlds, and what they did with the Amiga.
I figured this would be a good chapter to release to keep people excited. It will be on amigafilm.com, youtube. etc.
Keep your eyes out for it. And thanks again for your support. " |
