Hey guys,

I've just added Alien 3 to my blog if anyone fancies a read.

Not a bad game actually - better than a lot of 'tie ins'

It could have been a great game but turned out to merely 'good'

Alien 3 Amiga

Cheers all.

I'm familiar with the Mega Drive and Game Gear versions of Alien 3 and it's always been regarded as one of the finer film tie-ins. Alien 3 is a fine game but it fails to re-create the atmosphere of the movie; it's a great platform shoot-em-up but if it didn't have Alien 3 on the title screen, you'd never know that it had anything to do with the film.

Aliens (UK version) on the C64 and Alien Trilogy on PS1/Sega Saturn are much more successful in terms of re-creating the world of Alien and making you feel like Sigourney Weaver instead of a man with a machine gun.

What?! Shocked
Alien 3 is an amazing film! Great ensemble cast, great setting, great set piece and great ending.

I've always liked the Alien 3 movie, the Directors Cut especially.

Btw, Alien 3 on SNES eats the Amiga/Mega Drive version for breakfast.

I dont like Alien 3 and I think directors cut (extended version) is even worse. Digital effects are just terrible, the whole movie lacks the atmosphere and people there act as fools. First movie is good, the second one is my most favourite movie ever, but third one is just bad. The only positive thing is the setting - the environment of the prison / former factory is fine. And the game has even nothing to do with the movie - hordes of aliens, tons of weapons, I think authors must have smoked something or they never seen the movie.

Maybe it's not Alien 3 the movie game, but just Alien 3 the movie themed game ?!

The original Alien 3 movie is not worth watching anymore as the directors cut from the Quadrilogy box set is a better take on the film. Proper changed in many places with extras too.

I heard that actually they were planning to make a game based on Aliens, but the third movie came out. So we have Alien 3 plus weapons, and I agree that the Snes version is the best one.
