The second one could be Fire force or Alcatraz, for example.
Thank you for your reply however they do not match the game I'm looking for, overall the player and humans were much smaller than in Fire force and skinny, there was a lot visible on the screen.
Thank you for reminding me of Fire force though as it was a very fun game for me.

Namco's Rolling Thunder comes to mind looking at this one. _________________ A1200T, Apollo 1260, 32MB RAM, 3.1 ROMS, 4GB HD, Z4 Board, Picasso II, IOBlix (Serial/Parallel), Squirrel SCSI, 2X CD, IDE 100MB Zip Drive, OS - DOpus Magellan II. Plus an A500+ Yum.
The first game reminds me of WarZone by Core Design. Can you tell us if this game featured a warrior (Ikari Warriors/Rambo) or soldier (Letherneck/Dogs of War)? Was it two player? What did the bosses look like?

1. Soldier
2. I do not remember the ability to play with anyone however it might have been
3. I remember the first boss was a giant tank.
The key factor bout this game was the rocket spam you got in your face when you stopped moving forward.
About the first game. You are not sure, it was an Amiga game, so some wild speculation by me. The effect of dropping things from above and the first level boss is a tank made me think about a neogeo game called shocktroopers.
God, I wished Amiga games would have looked like this.
But I doubt that it's the game you're looking for, because you surely wouldn't have forgotten playing a NeoGeo at home in the nineties.

A topdown Metal Slug! You are absolutely right, I remember the game being on a diskette so I believe it was Amiga, the movement was very similar -- I remember the sprites being much smaller than those shown at the video.

I have just examined the screenshots of WarZone and one has reminded me of the game therefore it is it! I was thinking it had brighter colors but that doesn't matter.
