Yeah - not Amiga but would rather offer it here first.

Sega Game Gear
Sega Mains Adaptor (UK)
Sega TV Tuner
Sonic the Hedgehog
Chuck Rock

Game Gear powers up but there is no sound, even if I use headphones.
TV Tuner switches on and shows static (no analogue signals to receive?).
Both games load and play (no sound).
Some faint shaded bars on screen.
Sonic froze on me twice.

It's obviously in dodgy condition, and needs a dust inside and out. I don't know how to fix it but maybe someone else can or has a use for it. If no one wants it in the near future it will get binned before I move house. I'll bump this thread if that's going to happen.

Online postage check quotes me £5.30 for the UK (basic service). Paypal preferred. Or can collect from Sheffield. If anyone wants it to go overseas it will probably cost double or more, I'll look up a quote for you.

From the symptoms you describe, I'd say the sound and video capacitors are on the wane. It's a common problem with the GG and one that's easily fixed if you're good with a soldering iron. If not, the eBay seller Gearforgames offers a refurbishment and repair service for about £12.

Thanks for the info. Since I don't use it anymore I'd still rather someone else took it and saved it's life. If no one wants it, I'll consider the refurb or I may have a go at repairing it - worst case scenario I fail and it still goes in the bin.

C'mon it's a weekend project for someone. Wink
