|
|
Hi All, I've just acquired a 500+ after foolishly selling mine in the late 90's and I've also got a c64, there are a heap of great gadgets for the c64 eg I have the Flyer Net Modem & a 1541U2 on the way.
So my question is what modern devices can i get for my Amiga? I'd really like to add Ethernet and USB mass storage or SD Card Storage to it rather than spending money on a kryoflux and using floppies for everything again. _________________ Adelaide & user group

You have the wrong Amiga for that.
All these wonderful things just about run on an A1200 and even then I can't help as I've never looked into this side of things.
PC 4GB CF cards are the in thing which replace the harddrive now.
But in truth your A500+ is past it's sell by date and is great as a classic games machine in general.
Have a browse over at http://www.amigakit.com/ to get some idea of where Amiga's are now and what can be done tho much of it is aimed at A1200/A4000 Amiga's. The 32BIT Amiga's. _________________ A1200T, Apollo 1260, 32MB RAM, 3.1 ROMS, 4GB HD, Z4 Board, Picasso II, IOBlix (Serial/Parallel), Squirrel SCSI, 2X CD, IDE 100MB Zip Drive, OS - DOpus Magellan II. Plus an A500+ Yum. |

Hmmm, I would have thought considering the 500's where the most popular model there'd be a few Sidecar expansion slot modules/accelerators available. _________________ Adelaide & user group

I think it's native IDE so all you need to do is throw a CF-IDE adapter at it. Im liking the idea of a 4mb ram upgrade too all for $120.
I will wait and see if tothul makes it auto-boot and the ram auto assigned before buying tho- prolly just get a kryoflux while im waiting. _________________ Adelaide & user group
