Still stuck on level 5. Got really far on the level today but still not completed it. Some part of me is GLAD we only get to play this for another three more days. |

Arkanoid section - will look out for that. Did you know that Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak invented the arkanoid series of games when they made 'Breakout' in 1976. The game has certainly come a long way. |
Didn't know that, interesting indeed.

Just realized on the last try today that life tokens which appear as stars on the top right corner give you extra life if you collect three of them on one level. Very usefull indeed and I was with 7 lifes on level 3 already. Didn't help me a lot tho', cause I was once again stucked on level 5.

Heehee, good one.
I actually have a very modest life but on some things I prefer luxury (nothing beats big screen while playing video games or watching movies). :>
Otherwise yeah, we did start the austerity measures which made life in Slovenia even harder, especially for the middle class.

I guess the topic of TV size would be interesting, and a topic which might run for a while. I've started a new thread about such matters on a page which isn't going to become redundant in about 24 hours time.

I forgot about the short weeks, thanks for reminding me. What game do you have in mind for the 'L' game? If you say Lemmings I'm going to have to beat you. |

Lotus 3 and Lemmings cross my mind indeed. Both games I haven't played for a very long time and if I remember it correctly Lemmings doesn't give you normal points so any suggestions how it could be played in this special round? |

Lemmings? Perhaps a cover demo or something which is small - Christmas Lemmings maybe? Lemmings 2 might be easier to score, but Lotus 2 would be my personal choice. Unless by some miracle I score well today it's all up to you. Score to follow...
edit: remember we can choose ANY games to play in these rounds as they are outside of the compo. We should get through K, L, M, N and perhaps O and P too, so that means a lot to choose from.

Final Score: 226,900
Made it to level six with three lives remaining but got completely lost. I spent a good five minutes trying to get beyond the custard lakes up to the top levels (which requires four speedy jumps) so by the time I got to the top I only had two minutes left. I wasted my penultimate life in 10 seconds just by hitting three enemies (spikes) in a row. When I looked up I saw it restarted me with only 30 seconds on the clock!, and so my last life was spent wandering around a maze with no time to do anything. Pretty pethetic score. I'd hoped for a little more. Anyway that's me done. |

I found the first few levels were really fun, and the graphics do get a 9 out of 10 (there are a few refresh bugs but thats all). Sound, again 9 out of 10. I notice they used the same game music in the Ruff N Tumble flash remake lately. But the thing which spoils it for me is the way the levels get so much more difficult after the breakout level. The difficulty curve is taxing enough on level 3 (!) but it gets too hard by level 5 and 6. I can only imagine the next three worlds will be impossible, and it would take hours to get that far anyway. So a good start, great game, but the difficult and level designs are way OTT. Shame. I really wanted to like this game more than I did. |
