| whats with the influx of spam from China nowadays? they got noone to torture or something over there that they have to resort to spamming the Lemon Amiga forum now? |

I'm tempted to copy Lemon64 IP ban list to LemonAmiga 
Remember that replying to spam is not worth your time and just causes more work for moderators. Just PM moderators to let them know about the spam and they will remove it as soon as possible. |

This forum is running on phpBB v2, which is very obsolete and very vulnerable to spam attacks.
People, please DO NOT RESPOND to newly set spam threads as it is easier to identify and hunt those violation threads if they have 0 replies. Thank you.
It is also not needed to PM mods, I am here daily and I am checking forum for spam.

Every forum is vulnerable to humans doing the spamming. Do a couple of Google searches with spammer usernames and you will find them on phpBB3 forums, vbulletin forums, Joomla forums... |

Keep on banning their (Chinese) ISPs, that will at least slow them down. The largest address range I've banned because of single spammer is 4 million addresses. Every spammer caught makes spamming harder for all of them
Those of them using zombie computers around the world aren't affected, but at the moment most of spam comes directly from China. |

Whatever keeps them away... The blocking page has an email address in case it blocks a legitimate user. I wonder if I get a lot of Chinese hate mail i the future  |

It wasn't the nicest thing to do, but there are no 15 spam accounts registered today at Lemon64...
One thing they like to do is to post messages with little or no content and then edit them or change their signature / www link cough cough cough |
