Ahh Kenseiden for the master system a truely superb platformer and such a truely unique game you should 100 percent give this game ago under emulation.
The practice rounds in the game were you have to avoid arrows while progressing across the screen are devishly hard and Ive only ever completed them using safe states just give it ago if you havent you wont regret it.
Never played this. If it's good martial arts games we're talking about perhaps the Tenchu series deserves a mention - particularly Tenchu 2 on the PSX. Otherwise whats wrong with IK+?

Its nothing life either of those two lifeschool apart from the fact you have a sword its a platformer you have to defeat bosses to gain new skills.
he-he! Well I did say I'd never seen this game before. It reminded me a little of Karateka on the C64 - but of course it's much better than that. I suppose the character also moves a lot like the First Samurai character too.

The constantly re-spawning swarm of skulls would drive me up the wall!

I know exactly what you mean I used to hate it when something would hit you and you stagger back especially on the waterfall stages where you would fall off the edge.
