|
|
Do people here just use the basic WinUAE to load up games, swap disk, etc. Or is anyone using a good front end, with screenshots, etc.
If so - are they easy to set up? Any recommendations?
I tried Lemonade (although dis-continued) and got a DLL error upon start up.
I then tried a French one called Amigame but did not like the front end - also had a stupid emulated noise of the Amiga booting up. _________________ Fave Amiga Games:

Just plain WinUAE, it's OK for me. I have Lemonade installed, but not using it anymore. _________________ Favorite Amiga game: Pinball Dreams |

| For me it's WinUAE, as well. I once used Lemonade, but I guess it's only compatible up to WinUAE 1.5 or 1.6. I don't like the Amiga forever launcher at all. |

I use AmiKit. It loads up a lot of non gaming related utilities and stuff too so it's more then you need to just play games. _________________ Don't be waylaid by the empty rhetoric of the uninformed. |

looks great synchro, top marks!! you might tempt me over.
for me im still using lemonade, after the dll error its all worked fine for me with UAE regardless of what it says as long as i specified the folders everything was in. System is win 7 64bit, UAE 2.3.30 and the rest doesn't matter reallly |

The advantage of these launchers are they come pre-loaded with games and it all runs independant of any other winuae setup your using
So basicly you can happily use both |

I've been trying to use GameEx, but unsuccessfully.
Basically I would like to use GameEx with ALL my emulators because it has the best look-and-feel for my personal tastes: it is reasonably fast, and has a well-arranged UI that looks nice but not overwhelming (HyperSpin for example is way too flashy for me). Furthermore, it's a piece of cake to add screenshots or intro videos.
But unfortunately WinUAE is the only emulator I haven't managed to make work, although the reason is probably my lack of understanding on WinUAE, not GameEx... I should first learn how to make WinUAE work |
