After further experiments with the game I've managed to get it running at 25 fps - super fast and smooth - and with full details switched on. Very Happy Cool

If the game wins I can provide these courses as savestates (if appropriate). Of course players playing this @ 8 fps on a 7mhz 000 A500 from floppy disk can still post exactly the same lap times; as the live timings are the same no matter how fast the game/frame rate plays.

...Given the current situation, if F1GP doesn't get selected I think it would indeed be a good idea to have a Hall of Fame thread (as someone else has already suggested.

Although disappointed f1gp didn't make the grade I'm really happy about the prospect of playing these 2 very different games.

I too am hightly disappointed F1GP didn't make it, I put in a lot of hard work to get the game running fast and smooth for the compo. Evil or Very Mad

three headed monkey: - I was going to commend you on Vroom and suggest if you wanted to play a first rate F1 classic how about F1GP? But I didn't want to be accused of influencing the vote. To say it's a pitty (on the day of the British Grand Prix) not to play F1 is an understatement. Confused

It might be a good idea to run an informal competition for F1GP in a dedicated thread. There was some interest in doing a full season a couple of years ago but it never got the momentum. Might help show how it could be best played in the league. And if you keep it simple to start with I'd have a bash, could get a good response over time. Just a thought - as a couple of others have said.

Lol, I was totally thinking the same thing when Vroom was disallowed....but actually it would have made no difference....
