|
|
Hi!
Back in the late 80's I used to write music on my A500 using Soundtracker and the like. Anyway, I still have my A500 and the disks, and wouldn't mind getting back into it.
I've read that I can connect up the Amiga to my PC via a null modem cable (which I have somewhere) and copy over the files onto my PC using Amiga Explorer.
So my question is this: If I copy the files from my A500 (or the A600 a friend has leant me) onto my PC, can I open them up into some tracking app on a PC and edit/play them?
Cheers,

I've used MilkyTracker briefly.
So does that mean, I can copy the files directly from my Amiga to my PC, and then open them up in MilkyTracker, is it that simple?! |

| i dont see why it shouldnt be that easy, i had a brief interest in doing stuff like this and once the amiga mods were on the pc you could open them up with your tracker and listen/edit no problems. |

That's great, I'm really excited to get back into it!
Just need to find my null modem cable...
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks,

might want to give renoise a try
as a former noisetracker/protracker/octamed user i felt quickly at home
even with all its modern and advanced options you can easily use it as a basic sample tracker with the advanced menus closed
the demo version is only mildly limited
just noticed that there even is a tool for it to convert songs back to amiga protracker compatibility
altho the basic amiga memory size will probably be a limiting factor |
