Anyone else getting this? At first I wasn't best pleased at the switch from a glossy finish to a matte finish, thinking that the redesign looked like cheap plastic, but this upcoming launch has really grown on me and now I'm a believer!
Rather, insanely, this will by my THIRD incarnation of the Nintendo 3DS that i've bought! I bought a cosmo black model of the original Nintendo 3DS on launch day. Then when the flame red model was later released, I sold my Nintendo 3DS and got that. Now, I will be buying a silver + black Nintendo 3DS XL and getting rid of my Nintendo 3DS a second time.
The new Nintendo 3DS XL is a very impressive piece of kit! Each of its two screens are now 90% bigger and there is no loss of picture quality! The 3D effect is improved and the so-called "sweet spot" is enlarged.
Alltogether, the Nintendo 3DS XL contains no less than 15 improvements, and all for the same price as the regular Nintendo 3DS! Some of these improvements are an improved battery life, better and larger buttons, the stylus being relocated to the side rather than the back of the unit, a stronger hinge that can now lock into place when the machine is half open, and more! The Nintendo 3DS XL even comes packaged with a 4GB SD card, double the capacity of the one provide with the Nintendo 3DS, and all for no additional charge!
Bigger really is better! |

I don't see why they couldn't have brought this out at the same time as the normal sized 3ds.
Fair enough with the normal ds without 3d, but they have the design for a larger model ready now. They could have given the people that prefer the larger size the chance to skip buying the smaller one. |

So much space and still no second analog stick? I guess, it will get its own Circle Pad Pro soon and gets bigger than a netbook. |
