I found a very nice web-site with details on different Amiga computers:

Very interesting read, thank you.

Now it's clear why the A600 was promoted as a "Fun Pack" with several games bundled with the machine. This happened with the A1200 as well.
Quote:
In an attempt to compete with Nintendo and Sega's growing domination of the consumer market, the A600 is promoted as a console with a keyboard. Many users commented that it looked like a white Spectrum 48K, whilst others hated the lack of a numeric keypad. Early buyers were also annoyed by several price reductions of the hardware, dropping from £399 to £199. It did, however introduce the world to PCMCIA technology.

Cheers,
Oge

I also recommend all of you check "Links" in upper bar. There is a lot of interesting amiga related websites. Some of them are already closed down, unfortunatelly. But most of them work.

Reading through the history, one thing becomes very clear; Most of the Commodore executives were idiots.
