Seems to be that your processor is too busy doing other things besides playing a game. Are you sure your disc is validated ??? _________________ My Valentine love : Chantal |

| I'm running games using whdload. Cannon Fodder skips when it loads, the mission statement flickers on and off the screen. However the game loads and is then fine. Does anybody else experience that during Cannon Fodders loading? Please help |

| Do you have an accelerator or any extra ram? If not a stock a1200 may not be enough to run whd games correctly. |

HI Sydney, thanks for replying, I didnt think anybody would reply. I have a Hawk accelerator card with 8mb of 72pin "fast" ram added. I disable the fast ram because no games work with it enabled. Is this normal to have to disable the ram?
Anyway, I just hope someone can help, I'm taking from the response that the stuttering of the Cannon Fodder game loading is not the norm. Anyway hope someone can help. I just want an A1200 with all the games running seamlessly from HD. I may just have to resort to buying one preconfigured, and then undo all that so I can do it again myself. |

That's the problem. WHDLoad installed games NEEDS fast ram for preloading because WHDLoad preloads the game always to fast ram. Otherwise it must load data during the game and that causes the pauses on sound. It's normal so there's nothing wrong with your machine.
Futhermore, WHDLoad installed games should work fine with accelerator and fast ram. That's the beauty of WHDLoad-patches: they fix the incombatibilty problems with old games on new machines, like A1200.
Some games might need some tooltypes, such as NOCACHE on startup. You can add them to games's icon information. _________________ Rangerism's not dead!! |
