Ok, I'm really not expecting anyone to know this so if by chance anyone does I will be very gratefull. There is this game, As far as I remember it came on 2 disks but could be wrong, I can't remember the title (I really want to find this game again!) and I can't even remember much about the game. I do remember it had something to do with boats though (I've checked 'Ports of call' and thats not it) but after loading had finished you were presented with a title screen, the title screen had some boats or something on and the music started with the sound of water (It's not Pirates!) and then the music started to play. This is the biggest clue to what game I'm talking about as the music was 100% sampled. It could have been a protracker module or just one long sample, I can't remember but it was kinda slow and relaxing music with a slow soft beat. I loved this music and have been searching for this game for so long now. I've downloaded so many adfs looking for it but no luck yet. Like I said, this is a real long shot but does anyone know the game I'm talking about? Please help if you can, its driving me crazy!
Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to give me. |

Thanks for trying, I downloaded those three but none of them are the game I was looking for. Actually, the game I'm looking for is quite old, I had it for my A500 way before I got my A1200 so I'm pretty sure it won't be an AGA game. it was like a cruise for a corpse kinda game as far as I remember. I really could be wrong on that though. Sorry guys, I knew it was a long shot. I guess i'll never see that one again.
P.S. Maybe there wasn't actually a boat on the title screen, there was a lot of water for sure though, maybe a sunset too.... |

Ok, here's the thing, this is going to sound stupid but I borrowed the game (original) from a friend a very very long time ago, I only had it for a few days but I couldn't get it to copy.... Disk 1 copied ok which booted upto the menu but after that it would stop loading. I loved the music so much that I made a copy of the first disk even though I couldn't copy the whole game. Thats why I can't remember so much about the game. I know this is a weird request (wrong forum too, sorry about that) but I really want to get this again.
I checked Discovery, thats not it either. I think maybe it was French? Delphine or Infogrames maybe? I'll continue searching.... |

Reading your description, a checklist ran on my mind, and unless there is some incredibly similar game I'm not aware of, I strongly believe I know what you seek.
Without further ado, I present you:
Maupiti Island
Game information available at http://hol.abime.net/2424 and http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=722.
Hope I could help. Cheers! _________________ Rúben Alvim |

Maupiti Island..... I looked at the name and thought.... no, that name doesn't ring a bell at all, I don't think thats it. Anyway, I downloaded it, booted it up and... Oh my god! Yes this is it. I can't believe it. I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who helped with my search for this game on the very little info I had and especially to alvim-r... thanks a lot for finding what I've been looking for, That has got to be the best first post ever! lol
Seriously though, Thanks to everyone for your help. What a great community, hope I can help someone else the same way some time in the future. |

You're welcome, I'm glad I could be of help!
It was actually the very first time I was browsing the Lemon Amiga forum when I happened to come across your post. Have you by any chance bought lottery tickets yesterday? You could be in for a surprise. _________________ Rúben Alvim |
