What is Lemonade?
Lemonade is a frontend for the WinUAE Amiga Emulator. It's main purpose is to make Amiga gaming easier and to organise your games so that you can play them in seconds at the click of a button.


Which Amiga models does Lemonade support? Will more models be added in the future?
Lemonade supports the following models:
* Amiga 500 (ROM 1.3, 68000, OCS, 0.5Mb Chip, 0.5Mb Slow)
* Amiga 600 (ROM 2.05, 68000, ECS, 1Mb Chip)
* Amiga 1200 (ROM 3.1, 68EC020, AGA, 2Mb Chip)
* Amiga CD32 (ROM 3.1, 68EC020, AGA, 2Mb Chip)

Lemonade was designed so that more models can be supported in the future if there are enough requests.

Until then, the Custom Configurations feature allows you to add any WinUAE configuration file to Lemonade so you can add any Amiga model you desire.


Is Lemonade an emulator?
No, it's a frontend (or launch pad) which passes configuration settings to WinUAE.


What do I need to use Lemonade?
Before installing Lemonade you will need:
* Amiga Kickstart ROMs
* The latest version of the WinUAE emulator
* A few ADF files, the more the merrier

Optional:
* DeliPlayer
* A couple of Amiga music modules

NOTE: Lemonade is NOT distributed with Amiga Kickstart ROMs, WinUAE, DeliPlayer or Amiga game files. You must provide these yourself.


When I'm trying to install Lemonade, it says: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Flash.OCX. Unable to register the DLL/OCX: DllregisterServer failed; code 0x8002801C. There was a foult entering the OLE-register."

Just click the 'Ignore' button and the installation should continue successfully.


I can't get Lemonade to start, I get an error saying a dll file is missing. What's gone wrong?
Lemonade was created with Visual Basic 6 and requires a set of runtime files in order to work.

If you have Windows ME or later, you already have the VB6 runtime files installed, otherwise click here to download them.


I still can't get Lemonade to start. What else could be wrong?
Lemonade connects to its database using a set of components called MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components). It's possible you do not have these components installed.

If you have Windows 98 or later, IE5+ or Microsoft Office, you already have MDAC installed. If you do not have MDAC, click here to download it.

I only have one or a few Kickstart ROMs. Can I still use Lemonade?
Yes, but naturally you will only be able to play games for the Amiga models which you have the ROMs for.


Can I use the Amiga Forever Kickstart ROMs with Lemonade?
Yes, just make sure to place the ROM.key file in the same folder as your Kickstart ROMs.


Do I need to download the screenshot packs?
They are not required, but highly recommended for a more pleasant experience. To install the screenshot packs, simply unzip them to the Screenshots folder where Lemonade was installed and they will appear automatically in the Encyclopedia.


How does Lemonade organise my games?
Lemonade connects to Lemon Amiga and downloads information for every game on the site. This information is then stored in Lemonade's off-line database which is listed in the Encyclopedia.

Each time there's a games update on Lemon Amiga, these games will be available for Lemonade as well. If you want to be sure that you don't miss any games updates, select the 'Check for updates' option which can be found in Options -> General.

There are over 3000 games on Lemon Amiga, but only about 2000 in Lemonade, what's wrong?

The Lemonade database isn't the same database as the one for this site. There are a lot of games in this sites database that haven't yet been added to Lemonade.


Can I add games to Lemonade's Encyclopedia which are not listed on Lemon Amiga?
Unfortunately you cannot add extra games to Lemonade's Encyclopedia at present. To ensure your favourite game gets listed on Lemon Amiga and Lemonade please request it in the Website Discussions forum and it may be added during the next games update.


When I try to play a game in Lemonade, it works for one time only. Every time after that, WinUAE fails to start. What's goin on?
This is down to the way Lemonade loads the configuration file it writes into WinUAE. We've noticed on some computers, the file associations between Lemonade and WinUAE are broken each time WinUAE starts. But on some computers, this doesn't happen.

To fix this problem, please check the "Associate files when WinUAE starts" checkbox under General on Lemonade's options screen. This will force Lemonade to reassociate its files with WinUAE whenever you start a game.


An error message was displayed when I tried to update Lemonade's database. What went wrong?
This is usually caused when Lemonade fails to connect to Lemon Amiga. The first thing to check is that you are connected to the Internet. Also check to see if you are behind a firewall, if you are you need to give Lemonade access to the Internet.

If your Internet connection is working correctly and you are not behind a firewall or have allowed Lemonade access to the Internet and the problem persists, it is most likely Lemon Amiga is unavailable due to maintenance. Please try again later.

If you are still unable to update your database after a few hours please contact us via the Lemonade technical support forum.


As a last resort, can I can download the Lemonade database manually?
Yes, a clean off-line database is available for download here!

Unzip the archive and replace the 'lmn.cab' file in C:\Program\Lemonade\Data\ with this file (if that is where you installed Lemonade).


How can I set games as playable in Lemonade?
1.) Lemonade contains a built-in games scanner which will scan a selected folder (including subfolders) on your computer for any *.ADF or *.ZIP files which are recognised as registered Amiga game files in Lemonade. If any recognised files are found they will automatically be added to Lemonade's database so that you can play them through the Encyclopedia. Lemonade scans game files using the CRC32 algorithm meaning filenames will not interfere with the scan.

NOTE: The games scanner may take a while to complete if there are a large number of files to scan, particularly .zip files. For example, scanning through 8GB of zipped *.ADF files takes approximately 1 hour.

2.) Alternatively you can set any game in the Encyclopedia as playable manually by selecting the game from the games list and clicking the "Set as Playable" button.


The model says A1200, but the game isn't AGA and I know it works with A500!
The Amiga model used isn't based on minimum requirements, but instead on which model the game works best with.

For example, Beneath a Steel Sky says A1200, and this is because A1200 has 2MB RAM, which allows 4 disk drives and therefore saves a lot of disk swapping.


Which file formats does Lemonade support?
When launching games from Emulator Quickstart or when you set the games as playable manually, Lemonade works with all file formats that WinUAE accepts.

The game scanner supports ADF files and zipped ADF files, including archives with several ADFs inside.


Does Lemonade support SPS (formerly CAPS) *.ipf files?
Lemonade supports *.ipf files in its Emulator Quickstart and when you add games manually to the Encyclopedia.

However, Lemonade will not recognize *.ipf files when scanning games with the Games Scanner. Support for *.ipf files, using the CRC32 algorithm, will be added in a future version though.


Does Lemonade support hard disk files and WHDLoad installs?
Lemonade doesn't have HDF support yet, but it will definately be there in version 1.1. HDF packs from WHDLoad installs are currently being created by bippym, and Lemonade will support these by adding the CRC32 algorithm to our database. They will then automatically be added and set as playable during a game scan, in the same way as ADF files.

Until hard disk support is offically supported, our Beta tester Predseda describes how it can be done anyway using an imported WinUAE config:
"I manually set the game as playable, and set the model required to a custom configuration which leads to a virtual hard drive where the game is installed. Because Lemonade needs a floppy disk in DF0: I just put in a Blank, non-bootable ADF file and clicked OK. Now whenever I click the game in the Encyclopedia's game list my virtual hard drive starts and I can launch the game!"


I ran the games scanner, but it didn't update some of my games. What went wrong?
You probably didn't have the ADF file which Lemonade supports. There are many different versions of game files (different cracks etc.) and Lemonade currently supports one version only.

You will have to set the games unrecognised by the games scanner to playable manually.

If you want to make sure that pretty much every game is found during a scan, you should get hold of the Amiga TOSEC collection, which contains several gigabytes of games and many different versions of each game. Almost every game in Lemonade is sourced from TOSEC.


I have the complete TOSEC collection, but after a scan about 200 still aren't playable! Why?
This is perfectly normal. It is not possible to have a "complete" set yet since the Lemonade games-compatibility is under constant development.

Possible reasons why a game wasn't found during scan:
* A game is CD32. The scanner can not recognise CD32 games, you have to set these as playable manually.

* A game is HD only. Lemonade does not support hard disk games at present, but it is planned to be implemented soon.

* You do not have the version of the ADF file that we registered for that game.

* We did not register any ADF files for the game because we found it to be faulty, incompatible with the Lemonade configurations.

* We simply couldn't find it in TOSEC.

* You only scanned the ADF games folder (Lemonade also has educational and public domain games not included in this folder)


I selected the option for the games scanner to copy recognised files to another folder, why didn't it copy all of the files for the game?
The games scanner will only copy the files it has recognised. At present it will only ever recognise and copy the first four ADF files of a game as Lemonade only supports four drives.

A game may only support one disk drive, in this case Lemonade will only recognise and copy the first ADF of the game.


Why do you only support one version of each game?
The scanner only recognises one version because:
* It would be an insane amount of work to support, keep track and do indepth testing over and over of 20000+ ADF files.

* By supporting one version, you can be guaranteed that we have picked the best version we could find.


The games scanner completed really quickly when I scanned some zipped ISO's of Amiga games. How come?
The games scanner was designed to only scan *.zip and *.adf files with a size lower than 10Mb. If the zipped ISO's are larger than 10MB they will be skipped.


Why is there no Save State support?
Stay tuned! Save states will be supported in the next version of Lemonade.

In the mean time you can still load save states using WinUAE. Just hit F12 when you play a game and you'll find the option to load a save state in the WinUAE properties window.


Is it possible to create Dat-files for ClrMamePro?
No, sorry. We believe that there isn't much need for a ClrMamePro Dat-files, as Lemonade can scan and relocate the files itself.


Does Lemonade support Amiga MOD music files?
Yes, but there is no scanner for them, so you will have to add them manually. Music for most Amiga games can be found at ExoticA and Mirsoft.

Music is played with DeliPlayer, which supports more Amiga music formats than any other player. It also supports many archive formats, such as ZIP, LHA and LZX.

Don't extract these archive files, but instead add them directly to Lemonade. DeliPlayer will automatically read the files inside the archive and add them to its playlist.


Is it possible for Deliplayer to remove the playlist automatically after leaving the program?
Unfortunately the DeliPlayer command parameters are very limited, so we haven't yet found a solution for this.


Does Lemonade support other languages?
No, and there are no future plans for adding multi-language support.


I don't have a joystick! What are the WinUAE keyboard layouts?
Keyboard Layout A:
Numeric keypad, 0 and 5 = fire

Keyboard Layout B:
Cursor keys, right CTRL and ALT = fire

Keyboard Layout C:
T=up, B=down, F=left, H=right, left ALT=fire


How can I be sure I have the latest version of Lemonade or the Lemon Amiga database?
Lemonade contains an update checking feature which will check Lemon Amiga on startup if any updates for Lemonade are available. To enable this feature make sure the "Check for updates" checkbox under Startup Options on the Options screen is checked.

To perform a manual check for updates click the "Check for Updates" button on the Options screen.


Lemonade's interface is not displaying correctly. How can I fix this?
Third party themes programs for Windows such as WindowBlinds may interfere with Lemonade's interface.

To fix the problem, delete the file Lemonade.exe.manifest from where you installed Lemonade. You will now see the classic interface instead of the XP interface.


Why doesn't Lemonade support [insert feature here] ?
We have made every effort to make Lemonade the ultimate Amiga gaming frontend. However, we may not have thought of every feature people might like to see or use.

So, if you have an idea which you think could improve Lemonade, please post it here in the Lemonade forum and we may add it to a future release.
