I know that this subject has been discussed berfore, but nevertheless; I have begun sorting out favorites ind my emulator lists, and I would like to adress the matter. First of all, I think it qiute annyoung that Lemonade, and most other, frontends displays the "XXXXX added to Favorites!"-popup, which makes it difficult to add numerous games....at least not without spending half the time clicking the OK button.
Furthermore, it would be practical if the favorites could either be exported or were kept in a seperate file, so that they could be exchanged between systems and users.... I assume that the favorite-status is a boolean in the central database? That's the way it is in gamebase, which is fine, except for the fact that it binds this info to a large, unhandy file. I realize that it is not easy, technically, to do this, since the favorites-status would have to be matched up with the database......
How do you people handle this? Is it only me that finds it unhandy to work with favorites? In Lemonade it is tollerable, since it holds so few games, but in, for instance, Gambase64, there are 17.800 games, and it is a knightmare to sort them out.... not to mention the terrible thought of somehow loosing the database and having to do it all over again |

There's no longer a message box for the favourites in version 0.99 The icon next to the game in the list simply gains a star icon instead.
I like the idea about exporting favourites very much I don't think it would be too difficult to do what you mention, and it might be something which will be included in 0.99 as soon as I get to work on it again.
Would you like the most played list as exportable as well? |

Nice one with the star showing favorite status.
I personally don't use 'most played' for anything, but others might.... It may seem a bit awkward to export/import this, since it would change the amount of times that a game has REALLY been played, but again, some may use it as a kind of indexed favorites.... I dont know....?
Anyway, an export of favorites would be nice... how do you plan to do it, technically? |
