Hello boy and girls!
Just signed up to this forum. I have been visiting the website for ages, but now I feel it is time I started to talk to you guys. Some of you may know me from the forums at WOS and Retro Gamer (a great mag!).
My real name is Andrew Potts, from the UK and aged just 20. The Commodore Amiga is my all-time favourite computer system, and that's mainly thanks to all those game companies for producing quality titles. My dad has an old A1200 up in the loft but sadly the power supply doesn't work I am now emulating the Amiga on my XP laptop thanks to WinUAE.
My all-time favourite amiga games are (in no particular order):
Another World
Stunt Car Racer
Aladdin
Super Skidmarks + Data Disks
Wing Commander
Gloom
Fears (yes I actually quite liked this one)
Alien Breed 3D 1 & 2
The Monkey Island games
DragonStrike
The Simpsons: Bart Vs The Space Mutants (2 disk version with intro)
Cannon Fodder 1 & 2
Lemmings
Crazy Cars 3 (first 2 were rubbish)
All the Dragon's Lair games
Jaguar XJ220
SWOS
Arcade Pool
Superfrog
Base Jumpers
Turbo Trax
Disposable Hero
Worms (original & Director's Cut)
D/Generation (OCS version has better music IMO)
Super Hang-On
Theme Park AGA
Wings
It Came From The Desert + Antheads Data Disk
Zool 1 & 2
btw Great site Kim! Keep up the good work! _________________ Amigas are powerful enough to lift boulders. Windows can't even hold a stone without crashing! |

Howdy!
A1200 power supply was junk from the beggining. Just look for A500 power supply which is much better. |

Thanks for the warm welcome guys Our powerpack troubles started since we replaced our 800MB HD witha 2.1GB one. Will do a top ten list soon but there are soooo many classics to choose from! _________________ Amigas are powerful enough to lift boulders. Windows can't even hold a stone without crashing! |

Well, you say 'no particular order', but Another World should always be at the top of lists. It was the first game that made me drop my jaw in awe. Fantastic.
That aside, welcome to the site.
Have fun.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I've never played Gloom, Alien Breed 3D 1&2, DragonStrike, Superfrog or any of the Dragon's Lair games on a real machine. I discovered those gems through WinUAE Base Jumpers I have only played a demo of on the real thing, but I've played the full version in WinUAE.
Another World is definitely one of the most memorable games on the Amiga. Unfortunately, as I have completed it about 50 times I am starting to get bored of it. It's a shame that the sequel, Heart Of The Alien, was only released in the US on Sega CD. I finally got to play it using the Fusion emulator. It's almost as good as the original, but is much much harder. Too hard in fact!
As for Monkey Island, Super Hang-On and Wings, Monkey Island is the best series of adventure games ever (even though 'Escape' was a bit crap), Super Hang-On is a great little arcade game that is IMO better than the coin-op, and Wings is a top notch WW1 warplane game! _________________ Amigas are powerful enough to lift boulders. | Hmmm, Heart of Alien souns cool, even if it's too hard. I was thinking about getting into Sega and this might just be where I'll start. |
