|
|
g'day,
im using lemonade in an arcade cabinet and i love this software, but it would be nice if i could do a custom keyboard layout in lemonade to support the default mame config in the ipac.
i tried the keyboard layouts last night and i found this
If i select Xarcade left - then the shooting works correctly but joystick wont work on arcade control panel
if i select Keyboard B - the joystick works, but cant shoot using the arcade control panel
maybe if there was an option for a custom keyboard set or a ipac set that has these inputs set.
Thanks for reading.
Love this software.
Keep up the excellent job |

G'day.....
I use an IPAC as well, and just program my own keysets in the IPAC. In that way, you can map whatever you want, and you just need to map the keys to whichever keys Lemonade uses. Works like charm |

Excellent idea...
one tiny problem.
I have this setup in a lowboy arcade cabinet.
I have all my emulators configured to match the default of the ipac settings.
Im not really keen on re-programming the the ipac every time i want to use this software.
surely if the software can be made to support other interfaces the same can be applied to the ipac.
maybe even if it had a customise button to alow the user to setup fire buttons etc |

Why should that be a problem? You can easily make a script that reprograms the IPAC for each emu as it is launched. I have 4 emu systems and four ipac configurations. I never even think about it, since it is fully automated.
If you don't want to do this, suit yourself, but there will never be a new version of Lemonade (even though they say there will... they said the same a year ago), so there is no alternative. |

Well, I coded my own application for this, rather than using a script per se, and that was so long ago that I can't remember the exact format of the ipac, but just read the documentation...... it's very simple, something like
@echo off
IPAC.exe -amiga.ipc
lemonade.exe
to program with the file amiga.ipc and launch Lemonade.
If you want to, you can try my program, theres a link from a topic called
"Arcade Cab Launcher", authored by my humble self
and for further exploration on the theme of IPAC / arcade - stuff, read the topic "Front-end suited for arcade cabinet?", by Frode, another hardcore Arcade Cab fannatic
I have a newer version of the launcher, but can't update it right now, since I'm not at home |

i have found a utility that may also help, im yet to test it
http://www.autohotkey.com/
AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:
* Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.
* Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey.
* Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".
* Create custom data-entry forms, user interfaces, and menu bars. See GUI for details.
* Remap keys and buttons on your keyboard, joystick, and mouse.
* Respond to signals from hand-held remote controls via the WinLIRC client script.
* Run existing AutoIt v2 scripts and enhance them with new capabilities.
* Convert any script into an EXE file that can be run on computers that don't have AutoHotkey installed. |

Autohotkey is a smart program, but it won't help you with Lemonade. Autohotkey sends keystrokes directly to the hardware, which means that WinUAE can't capture these strokes, obviously rendering it useless for the purpose of wokring with Lemonade / WinUAE. You simply can't do anything with it when WinUAE is running, since the programs won't see each other. |

still have not got round to solving this, but a friend of mine pointed this out to me... dunno if it is any good
http://us.geocities.com/deonvdw/Docs/PPJoyMain.htm
PPJoy is a joystick device driver for Windows 2000 and later. There is also limited support for Windows 98 and Windows Me. PPJoy was designed for joysticks connected to the parallel port but it also supports other devices via the virtual joystick interface
Supported devices are:
Digital joysticks for the Commodore 64, Atari, ZX Spectrum and other computers of that era.
Playstation controllers.
NES, SNES and Virtual Gameboy controllers
Sega Genesis controllers
PPM and PIC interface Radio Control transmitters
Joystick emulation using the keyboard or mouse
Windows will treat these devices just like any other joystick and they can be used in any game or application that accepts joystick input. |

Hey all, just thought I'd drop a line to say that arcade cabinets are finally being catered for in the world of Amiga.
It's here in the form of WinUAE Loader and you can read more about it @ http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=4939
It supports GameBase, SPS and WHDLoad sets. You can remap keys for IPACs too |
