Cheers mate, mate a good read.

I missed the bit where he said he was going to make "pinball finale" though...

They got a release date yet? AGA? Wink

Indeed nice read. Smile

Sad part is that game was downloadable 2 weeks before they released it. Isn't that what killed Amiga? (among many other things)

A very nice and interesting interview indeed! I didn't know there were Saturn and Playstation Versions of Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Illusions available at all?! I really want them now. Very Happy

And about the piracy, I don't think that was what killed the Amiga. It was rather Commodore's fault. If you have a look at the Playstation, which was an outrageous success, you'll see that it suffers just as much piracy as the Amiga. And it's still a success story.

Only Illusions was converted, and you'll find it under the name True Pinball. Sorry if I was unclear on the matter.

Oh, that's True Pinball? I never knew. I guess I haven't had a closer look since it was 3D. Hmm, too bad.

And there was no "Pinball Fantasies" for Playstation? I remember reading something about it. I always wanted it.
EDIT: Oh, gamefaqs lists a japanese only release under the name "Pinball Fantasies Deluxe" with the relasedate 10/25/96. Nice. Gotta check Yahoo Auctions Japan.

There is GBA conversion as well, (fantasies and dreams together) but I never saw it here in the stores. Confused

Hi Axl, thank you for nice interview and games!

Hi Axl, thank you for nice interview and games!

Thanks!
The GBA conversion by Binary Nine ("Pinball Challenge Deluxe") is quite entertaining. I used to bring it along when travelling, until I got my DS. I found my copy in a discount bin several years ago, so I wouldn't expect any stores to stock it anymore.

Pinball Fantasies Deluxe sounds like the version 21st Century did where they added four tables of their own to the original ones. There was also one release with both PD and PF in the same box, but I don't remember the name of that one, and it contained nothing new anyway. I don't think I ever even tried them as the four they did for Dreams sucked big time. I never heard it was out on the PS though. I've got SNES and GB versions of PD and PF however, and a Jaguar version of PF, unopened Smile

Yeah, funny stuff. Imho a much better interview than with that Team17 guy. But ok, he didn't have much time, I guess.

I'd love to know what other games where made by demosceners, too. I only know Elfmania and some others. Disposable Hero! Does anyone know what those guys doing nowadays?

Team 17 was made of demo scene if I'm not mistaken.

So: Alien Breed series, Superfrog, Project-X, ATR, Overdrive, Qwak and Arcade Snooker.

The same interview, but translated to the strange central European language (which is my born one) looks like this:

Cool
