How about:
Black Lamp
I just loved that one on the C64 and later on on the Amiga!

The updates are great! Thanks!
I assume this list isn't limited to commercial games, so...
Megaball (hours and hours with this one)
Deluxe Pacman (great spin on the theme with a few ideas that never made it into any commercial reinterpretation of the little yellow dude)
Deluxe Galaga (compelling gameplay, but where were the tractor beams?)
and finally...
Does ANYONE remember a strange little overhead hack-n-slash simply called "scombat?"
I believe it was written in the original Blitz Basic (?). This is one of the few Amiga games I still play regularly. It's one of those games that isn't, well, "good," but I can't stop playing anyway. Sort of a Solitaire for old-school Ultima/Temple of Apshai gamers. You start the game by selecting how many fighters you want and how many monsters are in the maze. You can even choose how powerful you and the monsters are, what kinds of weapons everyone's using, and how complicated the maze is. I think that's what I like about the game so much: the level of choice provided. Sort of a hack-n-slash construction kit more than a game. Then you play the scene out, turn by turn, until all the monsters (or your heroes) are dead. Very, very simple.
If it doesn't ever show up in the database, can someone at least acknowledge what I'm talking about? Perhaps it was later re-released with a better title?
(Off Topic: Kim, I've noticed that when I save screenshots from the "double-sized" window, the pictures are still saved as normal size. Is this an Internet Explorer bug or is this phenomenon intentional?) |

It's the way all browsers work, the browser is resizing the pic to fit the 640*512 window as the image has been declared as having a width/height of 100% - this saves Kim bandwidth as he only needs to keep one 320*256 screenshot. If you use Firefox or ad-blocking software you can even resize the window and watch as the screenshot enlarges with it. This looks especially stupid if for instance you only change the width or height and ruin the aspect ratio. _________________ It's not me it's me brain! |

Yes, I understand. Nemac IV is not one of the best games, but have three aspect, that are GREAT: the story of the game (I am looking forward to write review, maybe), rendered intro and a title music. I know that it is not enough, but I love it at least for those three things. _________________

And it's always fun to enter room, shoot at couple of enemies, retreat and listen behind the closed door when they shoot each other into pieces |
