I recently obtained a 3COM 3C589B PCMCIA network adapter. Allthough i'm quite experienced in configuring network adapters on Windows based PC's, i never ever tried configuring Amiga's with network support.

After google'ing for network stacks i came onto your site http://jpv.wmhost.com/NetworkBootDisk/, and downloaded the DMS which i unpacked on the Amiga 1200 with KS 3.0 and workbench 3.0. After answering only a few questions, the Amiga 1200 restarted, and i was able to ping from my PC to my Amiga (both using fixed ip-addresses). The other way around didn't work straight off, but offcourse it was due to a firewall running on the PC side which blocked the echo request.

So, many thanks for this great configuration disk... it only took me about 30 mins to get the Amiga online (even counting download time, and transferring the DMS file to the Amiga and unpacking it)....

After that i copied some folder and files manually to my Amiga's harddisk... which does the job of getting my Amiga online when booting from hardisk.
