Any OctaMED users here? A very good software for
sub-par musicians like myself.
However, how can I export tunes made on it (WinUAE)
to a WIndows folder, and vice-versa.
I tried clicking "Add PC Drives at startup" on WinUAE,
but the WIndows harddrives don't show up in OctaMED.
Thanks in advance. |

set up a windows folder as an HD for storage (e.g., set C:/musicfiles/ as volume DH1: with the name MUSIC: )
easily done from the HD page of winuae you are already at, using the "add folder" (or whatever it is) fucntion. _________________

OctaMED SoundStudio is about the only tracker with an interface that's not actively hostile to the user. A shame development on v2 stalled years ago, really. On a related note, are there any decent trackers for the Mac? Renoise is slick but it sticks a bit too close to the ProTracker interface model for my liking. _________________ OldSkool demo development for the win! |

personally i dont recommend using music software on an emulator either. You need the accuracy of the timing to be really high if you're gonna do it.
re: mac music software, i run Ableton Live. Once you're onto a modern bit of hardware, you might as well use modern music software. Afterall, you can still sequence samples with it and produce the same style of results, it's just that you've got a lot of other additional functions as well.
i only ever run OSS as a tracker on my A1200. _________________

If you want true tracking on the Mac then Milkytracker is a hark back to the past. Renoise is a cracking tool, I know lots of people who use it that have tracks out on vinyl.
I personally use Reason and Ableton Live. Both have their advantages. Not sure I'd like to be back in a tracker environment these days though. I'm happy with the DAW way of working.
I've got tunes coming out and big DJs playing those tunes, so I'm happy enough _________________ www.retroasylum.com
