ok, i have a stock amiga 1200, I recently purchased "Road Rash" and "Ikari Warriors" originals, luckily they only cost something like a fiver, so not too bad if it ends up me being out of pocket, anyways.. on Road Rash i get the title music but the picture is all rainbow colours that are horizontally flickering?? and ikari warriors freezes when it gets to the 2 guys walking with their guns, normally i think u push button 1 or 2 for however many players you get, but it just freezes, now are they both duff copies of the original game ive been unlucky buying or are they able to load with relokick 1.4?

update - Ikari Warriors now works for some reason, i think it may be temperamental.. but Road Rash still goes haywire..

Both are the so called old games (problems with anything else than 1.3), this may be the problem. Some games (just few) dont work on Amigas 1.3 with 1MB chip, on 3.0+ its much worse.
For this is better to get WHDload and avoid all problems with incompatibilty.
Or before you buy any game, try several versions in WinUAE and then make a decision if to buy or not.
It can be also caused by bad floppies, they cant live forever.

Ikari Warriors on an A1200 needs Relokick to get it to load, but even then I recall it's a bit buggy or maybe graphical glitchy in places. You even need Relokick on a 500+ with this one but runs ok.

Amazing you got it running without. Very Happy

yeah it ran ok..not sure how but i think my relokick bugged out on me i tried following a guide on youtube on how to use relokick 1.4 but my screen did something different after clicking left mouse button, instead of going to the insert disk animation it said something about what memory do you want to use, 1 2 3 4 choices, i think it was something like 500mb , 1mb, 1.5 mb and 1.75mb or something along those lines. if need be i could take a picture and post it up tomoz? below is a picture of Ikari Warriors running without relokick 1.4

I also have a 1200 and i've never got Road Rash to run on it, get the same display problems you mention so think it will not run on a 1200. Mind you sometimes it refuses to load on a 500+ too 50% of the time lol Confused

Buy a Megadrive if you want to play Road Rash. Laughing

Kingpadboy,

If you like Ikari Warriors then hunt down a copy of Watch Tower for the Amiga. It's AGA only, runs straight from disc or can be installed. A little slower paced than Ikari but very nice!! One of the last Commando clones ever made, and a good one at that. One game that will make good use of an A1200 straight out of the box, but is very old skool which is great and something none AGA machines can't run and that's why you have an A1200 above all else if you get my meaning. Wink

MIK UK, that Watchtower game is looking mighty attractive to me right now...love the look of it,, although i noticed it seems to use the trees from chaos engine and the death sound effect from cannon fodder, was this a fan made game or a dev?

Never noticed the borrow parts, if they are of course. It was a full retail commercial game released around the same time as Dungeon Master II and I bought mine in Virgin Megastore all them years back.

I left some comments on that one. Runs sweet on my Amiga specs below even today. Can be a bit hard at times, practice makes perfect and saves the high scores when installed.

I just noticed there is a Long Play on Tube if you want a bit more of a glance at it. Don't spoil the ride too much watching all of it lol.

A bit more info here: http://hol.abime.net/1675

PS. The title screen is the box artwork, game uses codes before you can play but silly thing is you can write them all down in a note book with-in minutes and use that each time you play to save getting the manual out. Wink
