| Is it ok to use passwords for practice then? I'm guessing save states for practice are a complete no no. right? |

Correct - if you want to practice levels with passwords go ahead, as passwords are a feature of the game so everybody, regardless of whether they play through emulation or not, is able to use it.
As save states are only able to be used by the emulating-type people it would give them an unfair advantage over the people who use real Amigas. We discussed this sometime last year, can't quite remember when it came up though, and this is what we agreed on.
Of course you'll need to start from the beginning if you're playing to submit a score for this compo. _________________ Lemon/EAB Super League 2013: Round 6 - Arcade Pool

| But it's only okay for self-obtained passwords (by playing). |

Ouch, those rockets on S3 are evil. I've managed to lose too many lives there. Once you get past S3 your score will skyrocket, simply because the arenas and secret arenas get so big! This is why it's so important to conserve ammo in the beginning.

I never realised till we started how long this was to complete in one sitting!
I did some experimentation and the penalty for running out of time on a speed arena is you lose a life and move on to the next arena. So if you're losing too many lives on a speed arena and don't mind sacrificing a few points, it may be worth going slowly and carefully anyway. On the other hand, a good chunk of your score will come from speed arenas, especially the bonus points for completing it, so you gotta weigh it up. _________________ That most rare of noble beasts, the Land Seahorse! |

Speed Arena 2 destroyed me. I should have just let the clock tick down. Lost loads of lives, and don't have time to play again. I've barely had time to play at all this week. Think I'll pursue this with the codes just to complete it.
