| I was wondering if anyone could reccomend any good books to me, ive a lot of time to kill on my hands lately and could use a good read. I normally read sci-fi and fantasy, but ill read anything at all as long as it as a compelling storyline. |

Probably not the type of book your used to reading but i just finished "The world without us" and i highly recommend it.
It's a non-fiction book that tries to answer the question "what would happen to the Earth and all our stuff if humans suddenly disappeared"? What happens to our farms, our cities, our monuments, our radio waves? Would cockroaches survive? How about our pets, our farm animals, etc...
Great book if into these types of though experiments. _________________ Don't be waylaid by the empty rhetoric of the uninformed. |

Something by Piers Anothony perhaps - in his Xanth series (humourous fantasy) or his slightly adult material such as The Magic Fart. _________________ Please refer all site and database related matters directly to me - incl. missing games, links, screenshots and suggestions. |

For Sci-fi/fantasy lovers I always recommend JG Ballard's short stories. I find his shorts are generally better than his novels. War Fever was a particularly good compilation, but most are worth reading. It's not all obvious sci-fi, a good mix of scenarios, and some of it's a bit of a mindf***. _________________

For fantasy I recommend R. A. Salvatore and all the boks from the "Forgotten Realms" , also George R. R. Martin and his Song of Fire and Ice. _________________ I am an elemental spirit, summoned with one desire, with one purpose... to DRIVE!! |

yeah i read that too, its a pretty good book, i had a little phase of reading stephen king books, my favourite is rose madder. The god delusion sounds a bit heavy for me to read at the moment, i finished einsteins relativity a while ago and i think i have brain damage still.

| Possibly the greatest sci-fi novel I've ever read, and the only one I've RE-read, is "Brain Child" by George Turner. Never heard of the guy before buying the book. Plot sounded interesting, bought it, mind was blown. |
