There are 59 games in the database's update queue, but the database hasn't been updated for over a year. Why is this? Is there a way that I could help with this?

This has cropped up a few times. I'd be interested in knowing how many database mods are still about?

Yeah - if Kim wants to take a back seat with the site that's cool. But it would be good if he could delegate to a few new people to help out. As this thread proves - people want to help.

Yes, that's a good idea. I think if Kim isn't going to update the site much anymore it will make sense to get people involved who will keep it going.

I will contact him later on and will keep you all posted.

Thanks - yes, from now on I'm an admin for this site as Kim really doesn't have the time for this right now. Sorry to disappoint you all Wink doubt anybody will notice the difference really, just business as usual.

As for the database, Kim says it's a great idea to get a few members helping out adding games and says he would like to do this to keep the site alive. So he will look into ways of making the game-adding thingy (whatever it is) more user-friendly (as of course it was only really designed to use himself) and in time something might happen. As usual any more updates I'll let you know, that is if Kim doesn't do it himself.

That's good news. If there will be a sort of GUI for adding games I feel happy to offer help adding game data. I haven't done much php so wouldn't want to break the site if it was all straight coding.

I too would like to help if needed!

How does Kim enter games now, or does he use something like phpMyAdmin to enter the games?

(Oh I'm only harassing my brother, I'm allowed to give him stick 'cos... he's my brother) Wink

I must admit I don't really know how it's done. He says there is an interface for adding games but it's a bit difficult to use currently. So I guess it could be a sort of GUI.

So far on this thread we have Dan, Predseda, Mike, Biscuit... oh, and me Wink who have all expressed some sort of interest. This is very good I think, it certainly proves that there are people willing to put the work in to keep the place going so credit to you lot.

I am still here, but I haven't been adding games for a while, since real life is dominating at the moment.

As for emptying the queue, only Kim can perform the final step.
