All the forums/posts were deleted by someone who was aware of security exploits in phpBB. However, since we do regular backups we only lost about 5 posts. The forum software has been updated to the latest version.

I am absolutely sure it was MY 5 post, at least some of them. Sad One of them was pretty long and was about Memory expansion cards and compatibility. Took me about 15 minutes to write. Unfortunatelly it was so long that I will not write it again...

Ugh, well atleast that's less painful than if all the 10000+ posts were forever gone, which I feared for about 14 hours until I got a reply from my host. Confused

Yeah, the skill of some people, scouring the internet for details on common problems with forum engines. Man, I just wish I was as cool as them. They're so very cool, really they are.

Yes, I agree ... They are real Cherlock Holmes' to find those backdoors ...

No seriously, some people have way to much free time ...

Anyway, Kim, Welcome to the exciting world of PHPBB forums. Our own precious Atari-Forum has been hacked 3 times last year. And we had to update it 3 weeks ago, cause it was put offline for some unknown reason.

I think this is something you have to learn to live with Sad

cheers,
grave

Good job you have it backed up on a regular basis. If you remember the Zzap board got hacked several months ago and they lost about 6 months worth of posts.

Job well done mate with the back-up's!
