Hello all,

how wonderful to see there is still such a huge Amiga community, I never really joined one before but all those years since me and my loyal Amiga parted I have missed her...

Having said that, now I am trying to emulate a harddrive in WINUAE.
There is something that troubles me a bit. Each time I want to escape from the Amiga screen to goto Windows (what is the term for this anyway?) I am forced to quit WinUae. It seems other people can use f12 to goto the GUI (Graphical user interface is that right??) to edit settings or swap a disk or something but on this computer f12 has been designated by the manufacturer as a internet on/off key with a white led light in it. It's a compaq laptop and it is not mine but I have to make do with it for now....

Does anyone know how I can 'escape' from the amiga screen once started to goto GUI? So far the only way is alt tab but then i got to quit and restart WinUAE. Alt f4 doesnt work either...........

Add win32.guikey=<PC keyboard keycode> in configuration file.

Found this answer in 6th post here

In their example they use the tilde ~ key to open the GUI
win32.guikey=0x29

Your laptop is probably set to use the f12 key to turn your wireless systems on and off. Along the bottom row of your keyboard you should see a "fn" key. To get an f12 you must hold this key down when you press f12. This way you don't have to change any settings anywhere.

You other f? keys are also probably set to do something else by default so you need to hold the fn key to get those f? functions.
