Well here we go. The ultimate 'shoot-and-run-away' game. i.e. Amiga Dodgeball.

Total Score: 1,463,950

@ Mihcael - Put me on Pole Position! I can see this score will take some beating!

Pang tips:
It is generally best to remove any hermit crabs and parrots as they appear. Fast food items like cake, doughnuts, hotdogs and burgers can be worth a huge bonus – so always go for them ahead of everything else. Try to progress neatly. There is always plenty of time to clear the screen, but wading knee deep into the action could leave you sapping your lives away needlessly; so it is always better to get the next level – regardless of how long it took to complete the previous one. Having said that - try to be brave. Sometimes bravery can leave you successfully fighting your way out of a situation. Avoid the Lazer gun like the plague unless you are a crack shot (some low balls cannot be shot with the lazer), and the dynamite is only useful if you already have the double coil, or the clock to freeze time; so sometimes you must avoid these drops - even if it means dodging the balls as they come. If you can’t work out how to do a level, pause the game with ‘P’ and consider your options. Nearly all the levels have a ‘formula’ or a ‘route’ which you can take to make life easier. Experiment until you find a route that works for you.

The hard levels – possible tactics:

Ankor Watt 1 – stage 4-10
Immediately press fire to explode the ball directly overhead and head right to take this ball down further. There is a good chance this will drop a double-shoot; which I’d highly recommend collecting. Head left to finish off the first ball and attack the medium ball that comes from the right (ducking under the large ball). Eventually a bird will appear which keeps some of the balls to the right, so you can pick them off as they come. Take your time, but try to meet any potential straggler half-way so that you can always retreat if you miss it. Never pick up the dynamite or the lazer gun.

Australia 2 – stage 5-14
Head to the right and stand on the little platform. Divide the first ball into two. Then head left and divide the second ball. Now you have four balls on screen, you can keep to the left and pick them off as they come. If there are a lot of medium balls heading you way, you can always hide under one of those smaller platforms and otherwise run underneath the balls to take them on from the right.

Taj Mahal 1 – stage 6-16
Head right and fall off the platform, run left – under the first ball, and pop the second ball as it is about to land on top of you. Run left and finish off those bits. Then run back to the middle and divide the second large ball as it approaches, keep left and remove those bits. Then run underneath the two medium balls on screen and remove the small balls in the centre and to the right. You should now have only two medium balls and a few stragglers remaining. Run to the middle and start on the first medium ball, and then keep to the right and finish ‘em off.

Leningrad 1 – stage 7-19
Step to the left and divide the first of the large balls, keep left and pick off the smaller sizes. Run under the second large ball and the medium ball and finish off the smaller ones. Then pick off the medium ball – avoiding the large one. Now you can take your time to dispatch the second large ball. Never pick up the dynamite or the lazer gun. It is often possible to skid half way under a ball as it bounces overhead to remove it, otherwise give them a wide birth – and drop your coil in plenty of time to catch the ball while still remaining a good distance away from it. Never try to attack a ball head-on by running in its direction.

Leningrad 2 – stage 7-20
Run left and divide the left balloon as it moves overhead. Keep left and remove those bits (do not go right to remove the ones on the right!). Now head back into the middle and divide the second ball. Keep left and remove the shrapnel. You should now have only a few small balls on the ground level. Now climb the ladder and fire your coil when you are 9/10ths way up it (so you remain on the ladder and can duck if anything approaches). Use this ladder trick to remove most the third ball and then climb up to the platform and finish the bits off. Dynamite can be a huge help only if you pick up the clock at the same time.

Paris 1 – stage 8-22
Head left and destroy the platform and as much of the first ball as you can. Keep the other two large balls to the right. When the medium ball comes back around, lay into it but try to avoid the second large ball if you can. When the first ball is gone, start on the second, but keep left – you don’t want to trigger the final ball yet, and it will be perfectly happy in the corner until you need it. Then destroy the platform holding this final ball in place and get rid of it.

London 3 – stage 9-27
Pause for one second and then climb the ladder and divide the second ball as it moves overhead. Go to the right, drop down, and pick off the smaller ones. When the large ball comes around again, make sure to divide it – then run to the left, up the ladder, and over to the right side to remove the smaller balls here. Keep moving all the way to the right and to the left to remove the small balls – the large ones will bounce overhead. Never leave a large ball undivided as these can get stuck under the ladder. Also ensure you can get to the other side when you make your dash as you don’t want to end up under the ladder too long yourself!

Of course there are a few hard levels after this, but I don’t want to make life too easy. Someone might just beat my high score!! Further playing tips may also be found on the new review of Pang here on Lemon Amiga.

This is the furthest I have gotten on the amiga version ever. I usually play on the hardest difficulty and die on one of the ice levels.

I was having trouble on level 10, I must have been holding my Konix speedking joystick wrong/crooked as I would half climb up a ladder and then wouldn't be able to avoid a ball when I was trying to keep moving from left to right on the ground.

The animals aren't really that bad, except when a crab blows up a second smallest ball and sends the smallest one towards you, or when a bird flys into the harpoon you shot to hit a little ball.

Hint : Some levels cannot be finished with a Vulcan Blaster, they have bricks that need to be shot with the harpoon.

I already like this more than pinball

For me it is the opposite.. Pang is much more frustrating for me or is just me who strugles so much.. Didn't yet made it past the 16th level, can't believe some do manage to finish all 50 levels.. Ghaah, just not the game for me.
