All my stated anti-song rants are In My Opinion only. I just consider them to be cheap un-musical rubbish put together in a hurry, and I say that as someone who actually enjoys a lot of Bomb the Bass.
Incidentally Magic Pockets is nothing more than a sample of Betty Boo, as good as the tune is, it was lazy nonetheless. In a similar vein, The Power and Ooops Up!. _________________ "The virus of hate infects the ignorant mind" - Biohazard
Of course, this tune also fits the mood of the game very well.
Moreover, a solid candidate for both "superbly complementing the game" and "simply best" must be the soundtrack of Dune. It provides a very suitable and captivating atmosphere of mystique and sunburnt sand.

I liked how Robocod played off the Robocop theme. Otherwise, these tunes are workmanlike and dull. _________________ "The virus of hate infects the ignorant mind" - Biohazard

Why Why Why do people like the Gods music? Was it the overused samples? I always thought it was horrible neo-house crap. Just as bad as the Speedball 2 intro. Whoopee doo, someone (Tim Simenon of Bomb the Bass I believe) stuck together a beat and samples and a discordant 'melody'. I did like Xenon 2 (again Bomb the Bass but this time with a hook and melody) though, but with Magic Pockets they'd pretty much stopped trying whatsoever.
I thought the Turrican 2 main theme was excellent, and I especially liked the way it gave a nod to Turrican 1 at the beginning of it. Yo Joe! was a surprisingly (in that I'd never heard of it when it was released) good one, and Supercars 2's main theme also deserves a mention.
I thought Shadow of the Beast games' intro music was ho-hum but with nice instruments somewhat. 2 for example has a loop that only runs for a few seconds.
With you on the Gods music, love the game but the music is pretty poor and really doesn't match the mood of the title or gameplay. _________________ Check out my blog RGO below, latest post now up!
