Just an idea for Lemon Amiga!

I was thinking earlier about Lemon Amiga having its own Youtube account, we, as a community could contribute Amiga related videos, gameplay videos, Amiga music, we could advertise the great game database here, advertise the Super league, draw in more users, I think this is a great idea, I as well as a few others here would like to see this site flourish!
I think this is a great idea, maybe a few users who are willing to contribute could share the log in information, and update the channel regularly, just a thought!

Ahhhh, just found that LA has its own Youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/lemonamiga
There is no activity at all recorded for it, is the author of the channel still here?

Sounds like a great idea to me. I'll contribute whatever I can.

Edit: Since the owner of the Youtube site may be long gone from the forums, it may be better to simply make a new one and give out the login details to all the Amiga populus so that anyone with the gumption can upload things to the site - sorta like a youtube version of Aminet. Then we can put game-plays/remixes/demos/fun stuff in the same place??

Just like to add I think this is an excellent idea. I personally don't have much to contribute though I might film some of my runs for the Super League (to give everyone a chuckle). But if a new channel was created and advertised somehow it would be interesting to see the results.

EDIT: Actually I could always create the new channel myself? I'd give the account details out here for people to upload things as they see fit. The only problem could be is that it gets abused by people who perhaps only wish to stir things up.

Maybe instead of the log in information published openly on this site, the details are given in pm to people who are interested? So maybe trusted, regular members only? There is quite alot of details that need ironing out!

Don't know just yet. Think it's best to hold fire first until we figure out the best way to go about it, get any more input/ideas and see who would be interested in contributing etc.

I would be happy to take it on myself but it was Shawn's idea to start with so I don't want to tread on his toes or anything.

Just to let people know - this is going to happen - work and discussions are happening even as we speak! Going by the poll on the front page people would welcome the idea.

The next thing is something maybe a bit unusual... we'd kind of like a short introduction video to our channel to kick things off. Nothing spectacular, just somebody saying a few words about the site and the channel etc. Now I suppose you'd say me or EvilCensor should really be doing this, what with being admins on the site and all - but bravely neither of us are especially keen on this sort of thing

If we really have to then we will do it (I've already told him I'll have a go if need be) but if there are any members who would think that would appeal to them, to create a short introduction piece, then do let one of us know as that would save us a task - and maybe there are people here who love doing this sort of thing.
