@ chuckles - Would be great to see you get to level 1.2 at least. Which bit are you stuck on? Let me guess, the mid-level boss, right?
|
Thanks lifeschool--
I've got to be rested before I play--I've made it out of level 1 before,
just not in a while. Anyway, if I don't I don't--I still enjoy the art and
music and feelings that go with these games, win or loose! _________________ Who is John Galt?

Chuckles: That's the spirit;- make Fun the most important factor. Once a game loses it's fun it stops being a game and turns into a chore - and who wants to do the chores?? Not me.
I looked at that huge 4.1 level this afternoon, and took the time and trouble to map out the lives and weapons caches. I don't think this is a massive cheat as most folks don't seem to get this far, and the rest won't risk lives and energy to veer off the 'quick route'. But here it is anyway:
Turrican 2 - 4.1 Level Map - Download Here (right click, save as..)
edit: Although I bet there's another life on there, just above-right of the dragon.

| lifeschool wrote: | Last days of the compo and some great scores coming in. Nice to see TurricanX completing the game. I knew you would. Can't understand why so many folks are getting stuck in the scenery, although it has happened to me too - so I guess I set the president on that one. Just bad luck. Really bad luck..
@ Shawn - yes the fish is in Turrican 1
@ chuckles - Would be great to see you get to level 1.2 at least. Which bit are you stuck on? Let me guess, the mid-level boss, right? To take out this guy, stand roughtly in the middle of the screen and hold down fire to spark up the surround lazer beam. Have it pointed up at the rocks falling from the roof until the guy stops jumping, and then aim the lazer at his head. With any luck, the lazer will just miss the tip of his gun and hit him in the face. Then back to the falling rocks until he stops jumping again. Also make sure to use all the blast waves (space) you have. After defeating the boss, jump into the gyro-ball and roll to the right. You'll pick up a health powerup, and you can defeat the small dragon with a blast wave to just drop lots of bombs (fire while in giro-ball mode) to eventually take him out. Then head up/right/down/right/up-up-up-up/right to exit.
BTW! - In case we have any Ruff N Tumble fans still out there, and you have Java/Flash installed on your browser, check this:
http://recordedamigagames.ath.cx/ruff/play.php
You can play it online or download it to your desktop. The first level boss is the jumping guy from Turrican 2 1.1 (mentioned above) - although he's much harder to take down with the weedy Ruff gun |
Thanks lifeschool, there was many a tantrum on the way though lol, thanks for all the tips it really helped me complete the game, although I explored quite a bit in the earlier levels I didn't risk it on the later ones, plus they're too creepy to hang around on anyway. _________________ Check out my blog RGO below, latest post now up!

Just a quick reminder that the winner of this round gets to pick the letter for Round 12 voting (as in, "you can only vote for games beginning with a certain letter") and we've already had B, G and W so you can't have these (and keep it sensible!). Please can people send me a PM before midnight on Saturday if you think you might win this round so we can get things moving ASAP after this round is over. Thanks! _________________ Lemon/EAB Super League 2013: Round 6 - Arcade Pool

@ Ze Emulatron: - Hope you get time to play this. There seems to be a massive gulf between the top scorers and the one-play wonders on this game.
@ Shawn - Ok, if you're gonna have one more go, I'll join you. I can't seem to get any more kills (as I've already killed everything), so it all depends on lives left for me. Perhaps if I can get just a few more... It's a long shot. We'll see tomorrow... Anyway, thanks for stepping up to the plate Shawn! |

Thats ok, you dished out a very respectable score there; top marks for effort.
edit: and you beat Frikilokooo - which is also very nice! |
