Yeh, I can't find any mention of it either. Def sounds PD but I've trawled a few databases....zilch.

Anyway, my votes:

1. Sensible Soccer (is it EVER gonna get voted?)
2. Batman- the Movie (very likely to get voted)
3. Goal!!! (less likely to get voted)
4. Rick Dangerous II (kinda hope it doesn't get voted)
5. Hunter (never gonna get voted coz it's basically unplayable as a comp game)

Perhaps you would like to reconsider this vote?

He could mean this though. That's the closest I can find. I've counted his vote on the assumption that this is what he means.

Nah, I'll stick with it. Basically unplayable but not completely unplayable. I reckon it's time we experimented a bit with some games that traditionally we considered not suitable for the comp (or atleast games I myself considered inapropriate). Take SWOS for example; I'm coming round to the idea that it could work REALLy well being played in a number of formats....

But thanks for asking though Thumbs Up

Aww 'cum on. Both myself and Shawn have previously voted for Hunter to be played in Adventure mode. Basically this is the first part of the game, to be played over six 'days and nights'; and the aim would be to blow up EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING (as much as possible) within the time limit, and of course return the generals head at the end for a huge bonus. I think this would be ideal for the compo - personally. Wink

...5..........4.........3.........2.........1.....Oh NO!

Yeh, I guess that might work. I just wonder how long it would take? For me it's important that as many people as possible are motivated to post a score in the comp and I worry at how accessible Hunter is, even in your proposed format. I might even re-visit Hunter over the weekend if I've got time and have a think about it.

Overall, like I put in my previous post, I think we should be challenging some of the games that we currently avoid as not appropriate. SWOS is the big one for me. I don't see why we don't challenge put together a common format for the comp and vote for it to see who likes the idea. As it stands, just voting "SWOS" isn't really enough to get it voted in.

My feeling is that quite a lot of folks have never even played it - certainly not to the depth and challenge a compo would provide, so I feel this would encourage more people to take a look. Cool As it's an open world map, there is no problems about milking or leeching, and no strategy either - as the player could take all kinds of routes - or fly around in helicopters and just bomb the place out! I know Turrican X says Hunter is his fav game of all time... so that's one thumbs up at least. Laughing

...I guess this all depends on who votes and what they prefer to vote for. I don't see too many SWOS votes, perhaps because those who really like SWOS aren't voting / or haven't voted, or because those people would simply prefer to play / prioritise other games.

(edit) I have to admite, after the recent Lets Play SWOS thread I thought the game might have gotten a few more votes... was that thread ever resolved? - I mean, did they work out a way to play it, or is that still in question..? Rolling Eyes

Consensus seemed to be an eight game comp with the same seven teams as opposition to keep the competition fair.

I suggested we play Sensi 96/97, pick the top seven teams who finished in the PL in real life in 96/97, and there was no opposition so Graham accepted this as the conditions of playing Sensi.

I personally see an issue of only having seven games in the comp as it is very possible for the top of the table to be tied on both points and goal difference but some people just didn't want to have to play a whole season or long league before submitting a score.
