Folks,
Trying to revive my old AMIGA 2000. All I have is the HW, and no SW or disks other then a workbench disk.
I bought a workbench disk for my Amiga 2000, which I just power up. DIsk is labelled AMIGA 500, which I know didn't have a HD or bridgeboard.
It boots ok, and I have a workbench screen.
However, the Hard Disk which I know I have doesn't boot. I'm pretty sure, back years ago that the HD booted directly, without a need for WORBENCH.
I guess my next step is to find drivers.
Where to get them. How to get them into a floppy is my key question.
Many thanks if you can help me.
I'd love to peek into my old HARD DRIVE and see what I did years ago. _________________ AMIGA 2000 - Reborn Again. (at least trying) |

I am afraid you need more than drivers. First try looking inside, to make sure all connections are good (to hard drive, re-seat SCSI controller, etc.)
What version is the Kickstart ROM? If it is 2.0 or above, you may be able to use the Install disk to set up the hard drive again. However, it is always a bad sign when a drive tht used to boot now doesn't.
Try this, and if it doesn't help give use more info: versions of kickstart/WB SCSI controller, hard drive, and what the screen says for starters.
I hope this helps. |
