EDIT: Is it possible to get a replay of a shot? |
Don't have anything special under my sleeves, you already found out some good aproaches to the game with your tips, although as far as the green goes, no matter how far I am from the hole, if I have a zoomed view with a possibility to do a stroke with P, I will. You have to get familiar with the arrows on the green and how to take it into a consideration for the shot. But that only comes with the practise. I recommend P whenever possible, handy practise for the long run.
I would also recommend, as already stated, sometimes lower clubs for the shots just under obsticles, where there's no need to risk with the most powerfull club to sink it into the water, pun intended.
As far as replay goes, don't think there's any. Tried with the "R" key like in sensible soccer, but doesn't do anything.
For the wind I think there's no influence on the shot. Flag is always blowing to the right side, but I think it's only for the visual touch. Don't confuse the spined shot with windy shot. Everything that doesn't go on the red mark it is spined. Also handy for some shot's where you don't want to stroke straight where there are obsticles you want to avoid. I've made some pro shots like that but wouldn't recommend it as a necessary thing cause it doesn't profit as much as it's hard to make a good spin stroke as you wanted.
So, had a great run on Las Vegas:
las vegas: -16
saffron walden: -14
total: -30

Vegas: +2
Walden: +6
Score: +8
Really frustrating round. Got nearly all holes doing the 'birdie attempt' thing but totaly missed the hole so many times; either by hitting the thing too hard or too soft. The number of times the ball bounced out of the hole was beyond belief. Arrgg! Hit two water hazards which put me up from +4 to +8, and then closed with two birdies.
If anyone would like a playguide video review of this game - well, at this stage I can tell you I WONT be doing one. I think you've found my weakness. |

you're getting near sub zero level

About the scoring system.. What if one team doesn't make 5 scores? I think it is not just if the avarage is made only with so many scores as given. For example, as it stands now.. EAB only has 2 scores posted, the sum of those 2 shouldn't be divided by 2 but 5, giving other 3 nonexistent entries scored as zero.
I know this is unlikely to happen, but it wouldn't be fair in my opinion. |

| This is also good solution, yes. Probably it won't come to that in near future, but it's good to have things sorted. |

^ Absolutely! I think the new scoring system is a huge step forward from the previous system, and seems fairer in many more ways. Now at least the players who just want to have a quick bash won't drag down the others averages; which is good 'cus the player at the bottom also happens to be, erm, me.
The Lemon/EAB threads gain and lose popularity every so often. I notice on the PD round thread from 2010, Graham points out that the lemon thread is somewhat of a competition graveyard. Now its EABs turn to be the competition graveyard. That's just the natural cycle of life.
Lemon for the WIN! |

Can we get back on topic please.
I played both courses through today and finished at 2 over. It's def worth a practice play as I've found a few ways to shave shots off on two courses. |

So far this hasn't been a problem and i hope that continues. Problem is i couldn't see an easy way to make the score system account for this scenario so if it does occur we will have to update the Team scores manually at the end of the round. |

| ^ No need to tell us the lengths you go to when loving this game. How about posting your scores? As long as you give the screen a good wipe I'm sure we'll be able to make them out. |
