An Amiga 500 with 1Meg expansion - my cousin had it and since we spent much time playing on it (a few summers all day long) I somehow managed to persuade my parents to buy it. I think it was late 1993...The rest is history |

I had an A500 in 1988 I think, followed by a A500+ in 1992 or 1993 which served me until I gave it away when I went to university in 1997.
Just emulators for me since then.

My dad brough home a amiga 500 in 1992 but no idea what he paid for it.
Then When I had a job after leaving school (2001) I got a Amiga 500+ on ebay for about £20, still working now
Got a Amiga 1200 on ebay in 2008 for £45, was mint in box and only used for 2 months before the bloke got bored and stored it away, he did'nt know anything about it. Got it home to be met with a bright white A1200 with a 500mb Hard Drive he did'nt even know was in it lol and yep still working now _________________ Owned:

We only had two back in the day,
A1000 (with 1MB memory expansion)
A1200
The 1200 had an internal disk drive which buggered up on us very early on, so my brother cleverly managed to fit one of our second 'external' drives internally. As you might imagine, this required cutting a sizable chunk out of the side of the computer in order to slot the replacement in - it worked though! Never had a problem with it after that. Certainly appreciated having a HD when it came to playing games like Monkey Island 2, Space Quest IV or Conquests of the Longbow.
We skipped the 'popular' A500 because in most extents the A1000 was a close match for it anyway (and it was superior in some other ways -- I liked that the A1000 was a bulkier, less sleek design than the 500!). I do remember that it was always a bugger having to boot up with the seperate Kickstart disc every single time.

It was either that or... well, it was a DIY job. It did the trick though!
The A1200 and all our games went the way of all flesh about a decade ago, unfortunately. I was lucky enough to pick up an A500 recently though, and have been (slowly) rebuilding the massive game collection we used to have. Internet shopping is my friend. |

Sadly I never owned an Amiga in the '80s/'90s had a ZX Spectrum, C=64 then PC's.
Now have put that wrong right and have the following
1 x A500 c/w 2MB RAM
1 x A600 stock (needs sorting as it takes ages to start up)
1 x A1200 (Commodore, KS3.0, 4GB CF, ACA1231)
1 x A1200 (Escom, KS3.1, 250MB Overdrive, 4MB RAM)
Plus over 100 boxed games |

I have a stock A500 with a A501, 1084S, and external floppy drive in my game room for playing it "old school".
In the living room I have a moderately pimped out A2000 with a Mega Midget 030\25, A2320 flicker fixer\scan doubler, 3GB HD, full Ecs, CD Writer, 250MB Iomega drive, and running OS 3.1. |

I fell in love with my cousin's A500, so my first machine in 1990 was an A500 with the Batman + Tenstar Pack (probably the most common introduction for kids of my age) which got upgraded to 1MB with an Action Replay 2, second FDD etc. I moved to an A1200 in 1993, which became fairly well tricked out in part due to my Saturday job at the local branch of Silica Systems. This job actually landed me with another 3 A500s* and an extra A1200 (plus a boatload of spares) when the company stopped supporting Amiga. Unfortunately all these machines were lost due to a garage cleanout at my Mum's house which happened in my absence.
I now own an A1200 with an Apollo 030 + 16MB expansion with Squirrel SCSI etc. One of these days I'll have enough room to have it out permanently.

Had an Amiga 600 from 1992 that sadly died 5 months ago.
My dear old father bought a second hand Amiga A500 with 1mb in 1993 (purely for football management games) it had been sitting in a cupboard for 5 years (after he bought a PC) and when my 600 popped it's clogs he gave it to me, lovely guy, I will treasure it!!
I recently purchased a CD32 too. |

Had an Amiga 500, 500+ A1200 and CD32 at some points of my life.
Only have the A1200 left now and it's an Escom make and is getting more faulty by the day/week/month
I am after a decent Commodore model but its the money I want to spend really. |
